After doing the math for 31 inventory spaces at 99 hp/pray using super res/sara brews:
Elysian + 31 brews is 2405 damage (17.5%)
Divine + 28 brews and 3 super res is 2560 damage (22.5%)
Reworked divine + 31 brews is 2480 damage (20%)

We have changed the proposed re-work for the Divine:

The reworked Divine

The reworked Divine spirit shield that we will be offering alongside the original will have the damage reduction effect lowered to 25% . This is the only difference between the original and the reworked Divine.

This is only a slight change but along with the lack of beasts of burden to carry prayer potions the shield should be well balanced for Old School. Players able to get their hands on the high end shields will have to choose between the free damage reduction of the Elysian shield and the guarantee of the damage reduction from the Divine at the cost of their prayer points.

Any chance you could lower the divine and elysian shields' prayer requirement from 75 to 70? Or let us pay like 10m or give an item to an NPC with 70-74 prayer to gain the ability to use them without 75 pray.

30% to 25% isn't much difference lol.. that's what, 2-3 less damage assuming you get hit max hit?

I thought other items would be getting polled aswell, new items that aren't spirit shields for the people that didn't want shields?

Guess I'm voting no as it currently stands.

Any lower and the Elysian is simply better in every circumstance. As much as I respect people not wanting the Divine to be overpowered there sure have been a lot of comments that entirely ignore the strength of the Elysian and insist we nerf the Divine way below what the Ely has to offer.

An overwhelming majority of players asked for spirit shields.

Divine was only really effective as negating some of the heavier damage you'd receive in PvP

The damage mitigation from the Divine Spirit Shield was so effective, that's the PRIMARY REASON why it was so absurd in PvP. It honestly killed Pking to a level you never imagined. Let me put some common sense into you with some Maths, as it clearly seems as if no one at Jagex has even bothered to look at the impact the Elysian and Divine will have on Pking.

Let's assume the average Hybrid Pker, who Pk's above level 10 wilderness, takes 8 Saradomin Brew (4)'s with them. These types of players are the pker's who go to 44's, Mb, Graves, Easts, 35's and Chins. 1 Brew Dose of Saradomin Brew heals the pker with 99 HP, 16 per dose.

16 * 4 = 63 per Brew (4) * 8 = 512 eHP/Effective Healing Points.

The Divine Spirit Shield has 25% mitigation, 100% of the time. So with a Divine Spirit Shield:

512 * 1.25 = 640 eHP with a Divine Spirit Shield. That's an additional 128 HP, or 2 brews this Pker will have with them. 10 brews in total. It's already easy as it is tanking a Full TB with 8 brews, 10 brews is slightly taking the ****.

And that doesn't take into account tanks/raggers who bring 12+ brews with them.

64 * 12 = 768 eHP with 12 brews. With a divine, 768 * 1.25 = 960. So that's 192 additional HP, or 3 brews, for a total of 16 brews.

I'm so glad you're keeping the Prayer Drain on the shield (as you've just recently changed it). It was far more broken before, but I'd rather you lower it to 20% Mitigation with the prayer drain. That would be a lot better.

EDIT: Ohhhh wait. We forgot about Rune Pouches, which saves players an additional inventory slots, so players will bring an extra 2 brews with them... Yeah. This is getting ridiculous Jagex. You need to think about these things before hand.

Rune Pouches are a whole other topic.
