I do like the idea of a new skill, but this is something old school runescape doesn't need. Although this skill is mostly harmless to the community, there were several things I didn't like when I read through this. I will most likely be voting no for this update, because I don't see the real value in adding a new skill to get people to train skills they normally may not. I would say focus more on improving already existing skills, not adding new ones.

How about NO! :@ we dont need any new skills. Wieldable crafting tools and so forth good idea but no artisan I truley see no point you said it your self it wasn't as good as the orginal methods for training a skill. If i wanted a divination skill I would still be playing rs3 and that wonderful eoc crap. Old school was brought back to right what you messed up for us in rs3 so please leave it be.

looks like you guys are really starting to put it together, one addition that I would really really love to see added to this is the ability to make the artisian's helmet or artisians hat etc... that can be a reward bought with artisian points which would unlock the ability to make it. It would speed up gathering and crafting skills by 5%, 10% or whatever the community decides, ONLY WHILE DOING THE ARTISAN ASSIGNMENT.

I'd be happier if you could fix the servers, instead of a new skill.

Why not make it a minigame and see how many people actually do it.
That will give you a good idea whether it is wanted or not.
I may be missing something, but why would things that are already present in one skill going to be implemented in a new skill?

The "new" ore to mine, will you need an artisan lvl AND mining lvl to mine it?
Or just the artisan lvl?
If it's just the artisan lvl, what you are saying is that people who've achieved 99 mining won't be able to mine it until they have a high enough artisan lvl?

Just some questions I have.

I can tell by reading through this that I definitely will not be training "artisan" if it does pass. My thoughts after reading through this were mostly just; "why am I hearing about this again before the Corporeal Beast?".
I could be alone here but I for sure do not play this game to go skilling, and that isn't going to change because of another silly added skill. IMO dungeoneering had NO place in RS back in the day, and I was against hunter and farming also when they were being implemented. But, then again, I didn't play RS to skill back then either.

I try to take on the hardest possible foes... that is what makes me log on and check my FL periodically. See who's online to go kill what boss or else i just head to PK on my own. Why not try dropping a few of bosses (or at least the corp!) or try implementing BH before trying to add (or talk about) a new skill? I bet if you brought corp into the game + some other extremely hard boss and/or also make the wilderness relevant again, that you would see the return of older player just the same. Also if I wanted to see PKers come back... why would I vote for a skill that has nothing to do with combat?

I think I'll be voting no, sorry.

Being 'mature' and respective has nothing to do here anymore.
Those people above are just voting 'NO', because they are either lazy ässes to train a new skill, or they're PvP/PvM centered so they will curse anything that is not PvP/PvM.

In terms that there are a lot PvP/PvM-ers, than skillers.
It basically won't get added because, those dumbs above rant against anything that's not related to combat, regardless that like 95% of the skillers would like to see this content in-game.

Even the Developing Team persists to get this content added of it's goodness.
If I was in the Team..I'd just add it without polling it.
People went too far with exaggerating Combat-Polls already, and the very few skillers have enough of that.

Sooo...It is at least, I tell them to SMD..
