Personally I was thinking you should go more of the game design goal of the rest of Rs, create us a place we can explore, and wonder as to what happened there, part inhabited part wild, but everything there for a purpose, or the remnants of a story untold.

For instance the wilderness, or ardogune, or really any other place. You explore and slowly gain a deeper knowing of the land.

Personally I would like a half wilderness half settlement area, maybe some rouge elves or majaharrat followers, a cult of combat dervishes following guthix (think dervish from guildwars nightfall) maybe a ruined citadel or two from the third age, or a town that has ruins from late in the third age, perhaps some caverns and clues to the dragon kin?

That way you could layer in new resources, creature encounters, items, spells, advanced slayer tasks (think the Witcher series of games), more clue scrolls.

There are many places to draw inspiration from outside of the rich runescape lore, Game of thrones, eragon, Lord of the rings, places inhabitted, but once wild, and with ruins whose tales have long since been heard.

Hell even the city of london was at first a lone roman outpost near a riven in a land that was dark and full of terrors.

I think a blend of the danger and suspense and mystery of the wilderness with a pinch of the new and a pinch of the old would be the best idea.

Okay, to expand on a potentially great "war" theme I would love to see some kind of system where you are in an alliance with either of the 3 original gods (or all the gods) or whatever combo you would want. Anyone please feel free to expand upon this idea!
You would gain some form of Rep in each kingdom on the continent for items relating to the god you select.

Just a few suggestions for new species and races:

Cthonic dwellers: a humanoid reptilian species that inhabits the subterranean regions of Gielinor. They are similar in appearance to the iguana, but with facial features much like humans, and have opposable thumbs. They are extremely intelligent, see in the dark, and are masterful blacksmiths, as they live in close proximity to molten lava, much like the TzHaar. They are more of a reserved, individualistic folk, often working alone instead of in groups, though are very protective of their dying species.

Aguans: a humanoid amphibious species that largely inhabits the deep underwaters of Gielinor. They are capable of living both on and below the surface, and are very resourceful creatures. They communicate via telepathy and echolocation, and have the ability to disrupt the brainwaves of another creature. The aguans are similar in appearance to mermen, with the exception being their head, from which protrudes twelve porous tentacles and bores a mouth in the centre.

Perhaps some new gods can be discovered as well, some of which don't exist on the mainland. I'm a lover of H.P. Lovecraft and the Dungeons and Dragons-based books so my ideas are pretty influenced by those.

POSSIBLE BOSS CONTENT?

Maybe a little idea for a new PvM boss or a suggestion if I will, I think it would be really awesome if their was
a new boss in a heavily forested area that takes up a good chunk of the map (maybe the size of Draynor Village)

What would be lurking inside this heavily forested area? Maybe that could be up to you guys.

Content for only the finest accounts , this monster would roam the forest constantly making sure that anything that came in, isn't coming out.

As far as accessibility to the forest? No requirements to go die. The real requirement is your skill with your friends to pillage the forest and take the monster out.

So, essentially you'd have an open forest that a level 33 with studded chaps and bronze med helm could be ADVENTURING runescape to come across his worst nightmare. It would be awesome because it would actually be a dangerous place that anyone could get rolled.

In terms of how hard this boss might be? Maybe you would need AT LEAST 3 people that are 110+? One would have to be attacking with magic, another with range and the final one using melee , all the different classes would be attacking a different body part on the monster?

Maybe their could be skilling purposes within the forest that yield a great amount of experience?

Maybe an agility course up in trees above the monsters forest? jumping from tree to tree and if you fail you might fall right into the beasts lap?

Maybe the new treasure trails coordinates could land you right in the forest? That would definitely make for some great times I think.

I love the idea of the new continent. Fresh content that is coming right from the community. Since the polls came out I couldn't be happier. This isn't oldschool, this is community scape boooyss!

Anyone who enjoys this idea to, reply at me and pitch in on some ideas maybe?

Avoiding luring?

They could have a interface that pops up that quotes something like "Rumors have it that there's a ferocious monster dwelling within this forest, are you sure you want to continue?"

"Pssh? No monster scares me!"

"No way! I don't want to lose all my items!
"

This interface would have a toggle to disable, which could be easily be re-activated by speaking to the lumbridge guide.

What do you think of this idea?
So almost like a wilderness ditch, but this interface would pop up within the first few steps of you entering the forest maybe?

Cheers! :P

I would like to see new quests, like a quest to stop the smugglers. Rewards should NOT be weapons, and the quest should be made for skillers with great awards. About the Roman empire, a quest should also be done to help the romans retain their city from the Greeks by fighting the leaders.

I am okay with this as long as any new quests introduced don't require me to have 126 combat. There's something satisfying about earning 1800 total level while being in the 80-90 combat range. Don't take my future QP cape away with another Nomad-esque fight that I cannot complete!

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this, and I can't be asked to read all the pages, but if you're updating the trade system and talking about a trading outpost for these NPC*, while not just integrate the new trading system into the new continent somehow? I mean, yeah, Varrock is accessible, but perhaps make a teleport or a way to travel to the area that is easy for low levels to get to, like the home teleport to Lumbridge.
