I don't think the new continent should have a quest requirement to access. And if it does, the requirements need to be very low. An update this big should not be restricted to solely higher leveled players.

We don't really have very many hard quests or quests with high requirements right now, and I doubt we'll go from 70 Cooking as the highest req to 75s and 80s being commonplace.

I wonder also, it would make sense for the city to be encased in a bubble unless the species living there need water to live which would make the bubble a bit troublesome for their survival. In any case, if the city is covered or not covered in water it would be neat to be able to do dungeons underwater! Also, if there is one city underwater why not make it communicate with different towns which have access to the ocean by like making different dungeons to take (i.e. routes) or just making the underwater city a giant map which can access different parts of the shoreline at different access points. Another thing that would be cool to see from the underwater city would be a new method of fishing that is exactly on par with the old method, meaning that it does not give more or less experience per hour than it's same level counterpart. Maybe you could introduce a way of fishing school's of fish's maybe like rather than catching the fish above water your catching them below.

Few ideas on a skilling stand point that would make this area not dead content and not over powered content.

1. An agility course (level 95) with at least the tick saving potential if knowledgable of Dorg, and a reason to use the course over Ardy roofs, which pretty much made Dorg obsolete because it costed no energies for similar exp, A high level course that takes a bit of thinking or at least camera movement would be ideal. As the hardest course I pictured it either at the top of the mountains there or along the cliff faces. I would enjoy the possibility of dying if you mess up on the course even.

2. Continent specific Slayer monsters only, but not enough where you have a slayer master you use there and stop using nieves cave. Don't want to ruin that.

3. Farming patches ; Self explan. Would be pretty perfect since it will take time getting there, players get to decide if using these patches with their other current daily routine is worth it or not for them.

4. Blood Rune Altar - Perfect place to implement this, a good alternative pre 91 rc method. Similar gp/xp per hour as laws.

I will edit this with other things I brainstorm. Eventually E-mail the batch.

This sounds like an amazing idea, I absolutely love it.
For some time now, my brother and I have been following the website, looking for great new content, and perhaps even a new area to look over and perhaps even conquer! (not in literal terms)
Runescape has been long overdue for a new land, and please don't make the same mistake that the RS3 team has done. We want a place where you can interact with other players while being in this new place. We don't all want our own little zone with no other players but individualized content. (Ex. player owned ports)
Plus, this could be the placement of the "grand exchange" of oldschool runescape.
It would encourage players to visit this mainland away from the mainland, and also would allow the team to show their prowess.
We're counting on you guys.

New Idea for the new continent. Hand fishing for catfish! Why not have a river where you can hand fish for catfish in the mud banks of the river? It would give agility, and fishing xp similar to barbarian fishing. That's not where it stops though! You see, these catfish are on the brink of extinction...and go for high prices at Port Roberts. You must smuggle these to Port Roberts in a Temple Trekking/ Sorcerress garden type minigame. Avoid the Gnome Navy, and avoid other shady characters trying to take your loot! If successful in smuggling the catfish, you will be rewarded with a choice of thieving or fishing xp, or a nice lump of cash. You will also get a nice reputation with the Smugglers.

There might be a minigame where you hunt down pirates with the gnomes, so this is the opposite lol, its either gain or lose reputation with port roberts

I suggest the name Runedrift , as if it used to be a part of Runescape but broke off the mainland and drifted out to sea thousands of years ago. :D

Suggestion for continent name: Vhaz-Gruth, Sherildon, Zuniph (idk im bad with names so i randomly typed something that went decent in my head lol)

New Hunting Animals for the new continent ideas:

Blue Chinchompas - Needing 43 Hunter to hunt, these little guys can be found around the underwater city on the new continent. These chinchompas when used in battle are stronger against fire typed creatures (Example: Fire Giant's) but if used on any plant based creature then that creature they are fighting will become stronger (Example: Moss Giant, Wilderness Tree Ent)

Purple Chinchompas - Found in an underground dungeon of Civitas illa fortis, these guys require 83 Hunter to catch. Problem with these little guys is that they sometimes puff up by themselves and explode. But the problem with that is they contain a poison which is harmful to the player. Catching these you will need to wear a face mask in order to reduce the wounds from the poison.

Willow ptarmigan - Having two forms (Winter, and Summer) , these birds will require 67 Hunter to catch. Catching a Willow Ptarmigan (Winter) will give you a Frost Feather and catching a Summer version will give you a Heat Feather. You can bring these to a shop to create a Frost Feather Cape and a Heat Feather Cape.

Lastly a new impling called the Aquanic Impling. The impling would require 99 Hunter to catch and only spawn every 30hrs. The impling can be found only by the underwater city. This impling if caught can give you one of a few things.

Lvl 3 Clue Scroll, Dragon Platelegs, Dragon Plateskirt, Blue Chinchompas, God Bird Eggs, Blue Box Gorilla Skull, Shark, Sea Turtle, (Extremely RARE) lvl 4 Clue Scroll, Pearl's, Pearl Bolt's, Pearl Bolt's (E), Blue Royal Crown, Tree Seeds, Dragon Chain Body (Extremely Rare)

-----

Also another thing not hunter related. Possibly a new animal could be found on the plains of this new continent .. like idk Ostriches.
