This all looks positive on the surface, but I still have serious reservations.
Let me state firstly, I love this game! I started in 2007, and was so excited when Oldschool came out. I have hugely enjoyed playing it, and I am still enjoying the game itself.
But some things have happened since it started again and now you ask us to get our friends to sign up. I'll be honest with you, at the moment, I am reluctant to do so. Despite what is said by some, many, many players *were* falsely banned, and yes, granted, some did jump on the bandwagon, hoping for a free ride, but some were genuinely good, honest players, never botted or macroed in their lives and it's now a matter of trust.
This leaves me wondering, (a) how much of the low numbers is due to people leaving (and their friends) because they were falsely banned and are just fed up, and (b) if we don't get the numbers, is it all going to go belly-up anyway? Are we going to invest more time and energy, and get our friends to do so, only for us all to be finally disappointed.
To be honest, I would like to see a public apology for the mistaken bans, without which, I am finding it hard to consider recomending this game to others.
Can you reassure us that this will not happen again, and that if we do talk to our friends about the game, it will be worth their while signing up? Getting rid of bots is awesome. Good job, but I and many others are still afraid to cut wood, mine rocks, fletch, pick flax or alch because of all the false bans. I can't honestly ask my friends to do the same at the present time.
Honestly and kindly
Rav3n :-)
