warding doesn't seem like a skill to me alot of the suggested things can be put into existing skills like crafting, runecrafting, magic.
compress the arceuus spellbook and add warding spells to it the book is mainly teleports and prayer anyways.

I have been arguing for Warding these days by arguing against people voting for No. I now want to argue for the positive aspects of Warding by appealing to the unsure/neutral voters in hopes I can convince you to vote yes.

1: The skill adds a much needed item sink so that items will not crash in price to their high alch value. Very healthy for the economy.

2: A new skill adds novelty to the game for people tired of doing the same old stuff they been doing for 15 years. It must get boring playing tall everyday. This is an exciting opportunity for a new diemnsion. Variety is the spice of life.

3: The skill itself fits in perfectly akin to smithing; crafting & fletching. It fills a gap. I can conceive it could be under Runecrafting but it would lack consistency in some other areas and risk bloating the skill.

4. The skill does not introduce OP items dungeoneering and summoning did. It actually intends to fill a big gap between mystics, ahrims and ancestral that really feels organic.

5. Being too conservative by keeping OSRS pristine/pure is not old school philosophy. New skills were part of the old school hype and people were excited when they occurred. Were you not hyped for the release of construction or hunting? Summoning/Dungeoneering has balance issues which devs address by working with the community now.

6. If it passes, we get a beta to try it and influence the final product.

7. Even if you don't like it, let people have the opportunity to try it. Please consider that you don't have to train the skill if you don't like it. If you are neutral, I urge you vote yes.

8. The skill will set a precedent for brave and ambitious updates in the future. Voting no may compromise that and doom us to stangation. Jagex mods have hinted that if warding fails, this means no new skills for OSRS for the foreseeable future, because it takes too much resources to conceptualize and end up failing because 30% of the community is divided.

I hope this passes and we get more ambitious updates in the future. One skill a year would be a good way to keep OGs on their toes, for one thing, widening the field of people who might reach the upper echelons. Main thing to keep in mind is whether the skills make sense. We already have magic and runecrafting, now warding too. Can we get new prayer books and related quests? Lots of skills people could think of. Really it should be a matter of when new skills get added, not if, since people's reasons are usually weak. As people have said, if you don't want to do it, just don't, but most of us would like there to be plenty to do, indefintely, and new skills help a lot with that.

Which is the main objection most players have to it. Many of us are not new to Runescape, and some of us have been around since Runescape first appeared.

We see the danger that that sentiment clearly states, and thank you for acknowledging it.

Please consider that you have RS3 for when you become bored with Old School. If we wanted "variety and brave new updates", those of us who are against it would have chosen RS3 to play.

I am personally looking forward to Song of the Elves, because Elf Town was dead content for many many years. I am NOT looking forward to a new skill to grind, and one that will take away from skills that have existed since the games inception.

I am looking forward to maxing my main and going on to create pures to enjoy the game the way people have enjoyed it for many many years. Please don't take that away from us, Jagex. Please remember and keep your promise.

Jagex has the power to keep us both happy by bringing "variety and brave new updates" to skills that already exist; and, quests and minigames that don't bring fundamental deviation to the original gameplay of '07.
Let's Take It Back Old School,
Runescape
!
