BIG YES. Please implement this skill. A lot of people opposing the skill do not quite understand the document (most likely because they haven't read it). Their arguments are pretty weak and Twitter is full of the likes. Please listen to real players that actually want this game to progress. Implement this skill, a new skill is much needed and a gap needs to be filled.
1) The purpose of warding is to introduce a new skill centered around crafting magical armors. Why do we need this? We don't need to craft hundreds of sets of zammy and wizard robes
2) It's basically just crafting with extra steps. The fact that you have to run to the altars and craft there is just unnecessary hassle for the sake of "different gameplay.” Skills like Slayer were far more fitting and well-though out.
3) It doesn't provide much new content. It sets a new precedent of taking old content in the game that was fine and putting in the new skill just for the sake of having a new skill. You know that the skill is lacking when they have to steal old content to make up for it.
4) It doesn't fit into the game. A skill that tries to fit in but brings no real impact.
5) By making it crafting with extra steps, it's an attempt to make an OSRS version of Divination and Invention. Especially the deconstruction; that screams RS3 to me.
6) Waste of development time. This will be the 3rd skill that fails to pass after Artisan and Sailing. All the time Jagex spends drafting, polling, and re-polling failing skills would have been better devoted elsewhere.
This is OLD School RuneScape. I want to keep only the OLD School skills (but new bosses, areas, gear, etc. are fine). You want warding, send it to RS3.
Twitter - @OSRSbeatRS3
- OSRS has MORE THAN TRIPLE the RS3 players and a 75%+ total majority
Source - Misplaceditems - Runescape Avg Pop by Quarter Hour
OSRS is the REAL RuneScape and always was. No wonder EOC official video has over 80% dislikes on YT.
Also we don’t need new skills. Jagex had its best financial year and OSRS continues to grow. We didn’t need new skills back then (in 2007 or 2013) and we don’t need them now.
You want new skills? Send them to RS3.

What you fail to understand is that Warding is highly reminiscent of old skills. It's something that could have been added back in actual 2007.
If you vote no to this, you might have to deal with something that is actually a threat to the old feel of this game... like Summoning, Dungeoneering, or Sailing (ugh).
Warding is simplistic just like Crafting and Smithing. It's not a mini-game pretending to be a skill. It's appropriate for old school.
Your last sentence is arbitrary. Think about it like this. If we let them add Warding, they won't bother us for a new skill for a very long time, or ever. Safer bet.
Long live the Wilderness. Long live risk vs reward in PVM. Long live 2006.

You seem to think you know all players very well. I can tell you for a fact that Jagex will be lucky if all OSRS players actually bother to vote - but, as history has shown, players will exodus the game when the gameplay they are enjoying is altered to the point they can no longer enjoy it. THEN, you will see them crying and complaining on social media and the forums. Then you will watch the servers empty out. Don't laugh - its happened a few times before.
Old School is successful because it is Old School. It doesn't matter if it could have been - what matters is it wasn't, and shouldn't be implemented now. A new skill is a major alteration to the Old School game itself.
Work what the devs can into existing skills. New gear, minigames etc, okay, but I didn't return to Old School to watch it evolve into New School. It's opening a Pandora's Box that will see no end to it as new employee's also want to get something into OSRS to proudly add to their CV.
Jagex has RS3 to polish up employee's CVs with. RS3 players will expect new skills and constantly evolving content. There is nothing nostalgic about 'new' skills in OSRS.
Then again, since Jagex did away with Classic, they could spin off of OSRS and make a NS (New School) RS to give new employees the creative platform they crave without disturbing what has proven to be successful. I was given the option for my account to 'hop' from Classic to RS2 many years ago. Jagex could easily do that again and keep everyone happy.
Let's Take It Back Old School,
Runescape

I sincerely hope that this skill does not pass because I love Runescape; this reeks of divination & dungeoneering. Many have short memories and do not Remember what lead RS3 down the path that it went. Please vote no to this.
Don't add warding please!! i think it will be hard to understand ,in addition, you will need to run big distances to the altar which is really frustrating. many people do not like runecrafting just for that running issue
