There's only so much you can do in Old School RS before it's all been done. People will max their accounts out, and complete all quests over time. There will be nothing else to do for those players... People WILL get bored of these servers eventually, there's no questioning it - if no updates or new content is brought out, the numbers will slowly decrease.

So yes, we will have to implement new ideas, and install new content to 2007 servers to spice things up and keep it interesting to the players. Otherwise one by one, the numbers will continuously keep dropping.

For example: We see the same type of PK'ing videos on YouTube already from sparc mac, so wreck3d and b0aty*****'ing legends for sure! But it's now to the point where it's all been done, over and over again. We need to spice it up!

So with that been said - perhaps the return of Godwars Dungeon could be on the cards through poll vote? The return of godswords and dragon boots would most certainly attract a few more players to the game, and spice things up in the wilderness.

I like they way you've implemented rares back in to the game thus far, but maybe for party-hats in particular, you could bring to the game a "discontinued items store" that sells all the party-hats in limited amounts i.e.; 50 or 100 of each colour, depending on the rarity of the item as it was back in real time 2007. (Blue Partyhats were the most expensive, where as Purple Partyhats were the least - and from their set a price value for each one accordingly)

It's also good that you're interacting with your fans a lot more through TwitchTV. Maybe once a week a Jagex Moderator could host an event where we could play Castle Wars together or fight at Tzhaar fight pits along side Jagex Mods. That would attract great numbers and at the time same you're encouraging players to play mini-games more often and enjoy the game for the simple things.

There's so much you could do for this gane in terms of updates and content. :)

The 'rares' issue HAS BEEN DECIDED. You will not get discontinued because the percentage required was NOT met.

That's not 'new content' and the topic is dead.

Those are the types of comments that have me convinced y'all aren't able to consider NEW content. You'd rather watch it all crash and burn, again.

I started in 2004 when runescape was a very different game and to be honest adding anything of the updates to the game past 2007scape will ruin any recognition of real old school runescape in its prime (04-07 in my opinion). I mean I don't think adding a smith-all option or fixing some of the quirks of the game is a bad, but adding updates that are in the other version of the game beyond august 2007 will be a poor choice. IF you do have to update stuff then at least only update things that balance parts of the game, like making dk's drop dragon pickaxes as well as d axes and stuff that makes people want to play old content more.

Beyond usability updates that make the existing content more uniform and easier to use and less buggy I don't think anything from eoc should be added to the game. Don't add gwd/spirit shields/ivy vines/concentrated gold mines or anything like that you will completely ruin the fun of the game. I think it's fun to actually have to work for a long time to get a skill in this game because it means less people are going to have it and you will be better rewarded for your efforts.

I do feel like I have to make some exceptions though in regards to updating existing content, for example I don't think karil's/torag's set bonus ever were done correctly. I think you could change karil's set bonus to lower your opponents magic level, and change torag's set bonus to either lowering your opponents ranged level or their defense level. If you do this, you can add in a new dynamic using old content that I'm sure a majority would agree was kind of given a lame set bonus to begin with.
Also allow ahrim's staff to be able to auto-cast ancient magicks, this will make ahrim's desirable to use because it lowers the strength bonus of your opponent but no one wants to use it because you can't auto-cast with it or wield a shield slot weapon with it either. Doing this increases the desire to go and do barrows and will help keep some of the prices higher.

These types of updates will help fix some of the imbalance in the game we have while also making the old content more appealing again, I feel like some things need to be completed in old school runescape to make each skill appealing, but only very carefully and without changing the game overnight.Speeding up the xp rates of certain things too much is a huge NO if you ask me, that is what will devalue this game more than any other update I can think of.

Something that comes to mind is allowing blood crafting and soul crafting without a quest(or upon completion of MEP2 to make it fair for death crafters) so that the runecrafting skill is complete, while not adding the ZMI so people who get those levels had to work pretty hard to get it and will earn money on it as well, this ties loose ends but doesn't change the game drastically at all, runecrafting will still be slow even crafting souls if you only go up by the same rate of xp between runes as all the other ones (.5 xp I believe?).

I wish it could stay the exact same but it's true people will leave eventually if it never changes so it needs to be done with the idea of balance but changing the game to the point where things you would do to train, make money, or have fun today are laughable things of the past 1 year from now, is going to lose you way more memberships than never changing it at all, and I certainly would leave. I'm sorry but this whole dom's onion idea is a horrible idea, Do NOT add hitpoint splash absorbing effects to this game, that is when it changes from runescape to generic mmo #4975 which from what I can tell is all EOC is from the 15 minutes I've played it.

Maybe something you could do is allow not only f2p-style worlds but maybe add some 06 or 05 or 04 style worlds, where if you try to equip anything past that version of the game it will stop you. This could bring back old content style pvp and bossing without rewriting the game itself, could be fun but not game breaking.

I think this is such a golden opportunity to shape the game .
The chance to actually have a say in how the direction will go is not anything that I have seen in any other games. The polls show a decrease in voters so please if you want or don't want something VOTE.

I have seen so many good updates in the last 6 years and a few stinkers, don't blame Jagex this time around it is up to us.
