Lock me in to the unchanging servers.. I won't mind.. lock those who want changes out... let them have their changes (if they can agree amongst themselves) but don't let those changes take away OLD SCHOOL.

Pkers got 2 servers..

Seriously.. how hard could it be to offer 2 worlds, where nothing ever changed?

lmfao get over yourself.

Funny thing, that..

I 'got over myself' nearly 50 years ago... what you're suggesting is that I 'get over' watching this game completely destroyed, a second time and I won't do it. I won't just 'get over it', I'll take it to my grave (because it doesn't have to happen).

''The private servers would be for those wanting no change, they offered them to PK'ers, why not to other people, as it would not affect you at all.''

It wouldn't be 'private servers' any more than RSC is currently 'private servers'.

It wouldn't be another iteration of the game. It would be OSRS as it was initially offered without ever changing a thing in it.

It would be a server frozen in time.

While I'd love to see jagex offer me a private server (where I could pick and choose who could and couldn't play on MY world) and it is something I could afford to pay for myself... it isn't what I'm suggesting, at all.

Those who oppose a couple of worlds that never change, are the ones who believe that peeps are gonna play no matter what updates come.. and y'all have already been proven wrong... it's how we ended up here.

A year before micros came, I was laughed at for even thinking it would happen and posting my thoughts... turns out micros hit with a vengeance.

I'mma make another prediction now... OS will be obliterated with nearly every update the main game has.. it's simply a matter of time til it does.

When that happens and peeps can choose between the main game as it currently is or RS3...

So you're going on an endless rant because you think updates will ruin OSRS..even though you know damn well updates have passed and it has not been "ruined". If a greater number of players choose not to pass a vote on new content that is fine, if new content does pass then deal with it instead of raving over the forums about how you don't want to play. I will agree that some suggestions from Eoc in my opinion have just been ridiculous to say the least, people class these as "small" updates which make the game easier and less enjoyable for me. If there is something I am missing please let me know.

What I know ''damn well'' is that everyone here has at least ONE update that they would stop playin' the game over. BAR NONE.

It's a slow bleed and we lose a few to a few hundred at a time (and don't bother trying to deny it before you go look at how many peeps voted in the first content poll v. how many voted in the most recent poll).

It's a fact that people got over their need of nostalgia, got bored, had better things to do, etc.

But it's also a fact that they could retain more players than they currently do, by simply freezing 2 servers in time (for those of us who don't want to watch it all unravel again).

I'd love to hear the rationale behind the loss of 90% of voters!

As Librarian pointed out... pkers were offered 'select' servers, exactly how they wanted them (oh yeah, they were, because they even got the use of some members items on those f2p worlds) and I honestly don't see ANY reason for denying servers frozen in time and locked down.

It's a situation they could address, to their own benefit as well as those players who don't want changes and it wouldn't have ANY impact on those players who want to see any and all updates.

This time 'round though, it won't take their advice of ''ignore it or quit'' the way it did 2 and a half years ago. I won't quietly watch it die this time.

I don't see any signs that this game is headed down the road that Eoc went on. You've already answered the reason for players leaving, those who were bored and ones seeking temporary nostalgia from here. The ones who have stuck around have been at a decent number, yes it is less active than before but I doubt that is due to updates primarily.

Think there are useful updates that would be nice like bank tabs, but I'm not sure about adding a lot of new content.

My concern is that the game will become too easy again and become boring.

Exactly. I am by no means opposed to updates in general but its these "small" updates being rapidly suggested that makes the game easier and less enjoyable in my opinion. Those are the ones that I believe, if possible, could lead the game downhill and turn into many features Eoc has. People need to keep in mind that even though not all updates are bad, ones that make the game less of a challenge bother a good number of players such as myself.

You don't end up too old to play games and have fun, you end up old if you don't play games and have fun. :P

Joking aside, you need to get over the idea that older people play games (even if many you encounter don't admit to being older).

There is a minimum age requirement for RS and I more than meet that requirement (I have grandkids that meet that requirement!).

When I see a ''maximum'' age requirement, I'll consider going to play bingo. :@
