The game does not have to develop in exactly the same way as the main game did. Updating OSR does not mean that the modern graphics and EOC will inevitably become part of OSR. The game can and should be developed in its own way, according to community consultation. Personally I would love to see new quests added, and unfinished quest series tied up (perhaps differently from the main game, with alternative endings???).

Your right the game doesn't have to develop in exactly the same way, but it will end up in a similar place, as all people want are the convenience updates*

Can you tell me how the game is so far being developed in its own way (the new mini game apart)

* My version of convenience updates does not necessarily match other peoples convenience updates.

What would you say that wrong turn was, what happens if everyone has a different idea of where the main game went wrong.

Well we can't decide that anyway. The only model of the "old school" game that was available was a backup from August 2007, so that's what we've got. The only option we have is to move forwards from here or alter accordingly.

Even if everyone has different visions of what OSR should look like, any changes made to the game have to have the overwhelming support of the community to be implemented. It's democratic (more so than in real life at least). I actually didn't want rares to be re-introduced, at least not as tradeable items, but I'm going to live with it because it seems everyone else did.

I did love to have Bank Tabs again.
pvp - worlds were very fun.

I rather not see This Version turn into a ruined combat triangle nor have it kill the spirit of the game and neither let pvming be the main money making methode in the game.

If let's say Godwars Dungeon was released some of the drops should be range/mage based and be just as powerful as the godswords.

but honestly I like the game it is now.

''WE'' don't ''NEED'' updates. YOU WANT them. Others WANT them. NOT everybody WANTS them.

Why not give pretty much everyone what they want?

Pkers got 2 worlds for f2p themed pking (and haven't stopped asking for members items on those worlds since). The also have no more than 200 people (on average) combined between the 2 worlds.

Classic got locked down upon release of RS2. 2 worlds that never change, where nobody can go in and those accounts can't play on any other servers.

Do the same with old school.

Give us 2 worlds (just 2) where nothing ever changes. Where nobody can play toons on those servers unless the toon was created specifically for that server. Lock it down the way RSC is locked down.

Don't update it. EVER. Even if it only had 200 peeps on average... that's what's happened with the pkers worlds, why shouldn't it happen for those of us who would prefer no updates at all?

Why shouldn't you try to retain players (we all know that nearly 90% LESS people voted in the most recent content poll than what voted in the first content poll)?

Seems so simple, yet the idea is being entirely ignored by jagex.

Can't have more peeps happy I guess...

No surprises there.

The polls were a good idea, since ideally no one can complain that Jagex isn't listening when it's 100% player voted.

I say keep doing what you're doing, just don't add content. I don't approve of things like the Dom Onion cave that will take precious development time from the main game.

I made a thread on all the things that 2007scape would be missing, and it really opened my eyes to just how much we take for granted. The patch notes are very necessary to fix long-standing issues like the horrendous pathfinding we had in 2007scape, that no sane man could argue benefited the game.

Just don't forget the live game is full of bugs too! We're still reeling from the EoC 8 months later!

I would like to see mostly small changes that affect usability. I like the update to fairy rings that saves codes, but I think the rings should at least be updated so that they can take multiple clicks at the same time when "dialing." I do like the bank updates with tabs, but i think the bank "search" option should be added at the very least. The only "big" update I would like to see is the quest smoking kills. This was not released too far past the range for what is already in the game, and I think it is still in the spirit of the game. I personally liked the hp/prayer "orbs" that were eventually added in the other version of the game, but I am really on the fence about whether or not they should be added here. There is a random, odd update that I also think would be nice. It would be awesome if a tree was removed near the fairy ring by the tower of life so that the player would not have to run all the way around to enter the tower. This would only help a small number of people, but it seems like it might be easy to do. These are just the updates that I like, but I do think that they are reasonable enough to receive votes in an update poll. Please give them consideration.
