I'm tired of the notion that OSRS should stay as a time capsule to August 2007. That particular date isn't exactly the most developed or intriguing point in RS history, being just before the release of GWD and right after Mithril Dragons release.
It's comparable to purgatory in the sense that it's a blank slate, a slate that we can improve together. It's not about 'no updates', it's about the right updates, and I'm adamant we can decide on them together.
What I'm getting at here is that the current version of OSRuneScape is hardly perfect, we have little end-game content, various skills are riddled with inconsistencies (as mentioned by Mat, Smithing could do with a Smith all function), why shouldn't we attempt to fix these problems? The Shantay Pass bank chest still insists on telling you it's a bank every time you click on it for example, would the people who are anti-updates be against the removal of that text? As it makes banking there easier? It's silly to me, we have a great opportunity to make the game we want with OSRS, It would be wrong NOT to update.
