Box Traps -
No complaints, sounds good

Anti-Dragon & Dragonfire Shields-
I'm not too familiar with the dragon botting 'meta,' but I'd imagine DS reqs wouldn't require the botters to go too much further out of their way from their current account setup. I'd imagine they're doing some quests (Vampire Slayer, Waterfall, Monkey Madness, Witch's House, and even Dragon Slayer) already to speed up melee training, so 32qp req isn't too much of a deterrent for people planning to bot Green Dragons. Again I'm unfamiliar with their strategies and they may not be doing any quests to prepare the accounts, but it doesn't seem like 32qp will cost them much time at all to obtain before botting.

Lundail's Arena-side Rune Shop (Mage Arena Rune Shop) and the Magic Guild Store-

You've said in the past that you don't make updates with ironmen in mind. As an Ironman, I support the idea of having a Mage Arena completion requirement to use this shop. The only runes you get here that can't be purchased from other no-req magic shops are cosmic runes and they're always bought out anyways.

Zaff's Staves -

No complaints here

Stealing the Wine of Zamorak -

No complaints here

Mage Training Arena: Enchanting Chamber -

I have nothing to offer on this one because I don't fully understand what's being proposed

Pickpocketing NPCs -

THIS IS THE BIG ONE FOR ME. I fully support this update, contingent upon the coin purses being able to be opened in between pickpockets with no time loss. Pickpocketing is a 2 tick action, so it'd require fast clicking, but as long as we can click the NPC, quickly right click and open-all the next tick, and click back onto the NPC the following tick, I love this update.

Drop-based Scams -

I don't think this update will convince the players who fall for these scams since, as mentioned in the post, there are already plenty of warning messages. However I see no problem with adding it anyways.

Changes to the Duel Arena -

:D :D :D :D <3

I'm not sure if putting things behind a quest requirement will help stop botting. Just look at cannonballs. They're locked behind the Dwarf Cannon quest yet they're still commonly botted.

The change to pickpocketing is concerning. I'm sure the main focus here is Ardougne Knights. I think nerfing the gold they give would be a better starting choice, because at least then people that autoclick would only mainly be getting xp instead of gold+xp. Obviously people would still autoclick for the easy experience gains, but at least the economy would be less heavily impacted by all the gold that gets generated by them.

The main issue with the proposed suggestion to pickpocketing is that people often fill their inventories with food and dodgy necklaces so they have to bank less frequently. Getting a coin purse every (? however often) pickpocket would make it rather annoying if your inventory is already filled with supplies for the trip. If this is somehow considered and worked around I'd have no problems with it.

I don’t think the drop scamming feature is necessary. There’s enough information out there to know what not to do and there’s a warning on dropping valuable things as is.

As for death mechanics, I’d prefer a mix of the two. I’d like the old system of two minutes UNLESS you talk to an NPC near your spawn point after death (or maybe you can even do this before you die, and you’ll have to redo it each time you die), to set up the gravestone. The gravestone would act as is suggested. The two minute and the twenty minute countdown would only count when logged in, so you have all the time you need if you DC.

I think this does a good job of adding risk and responsibility. I think the grave stone needs to have a very high penalty as well. I think Barrows items should automatically breaknupon death as well and become tradable so they drop.

Also, I don’t really like the gold purse thing. Thieving is click-intensive enough. Maybe nerf XP or something

Very clever Anti-Dragon Shield proposal...PUSH IT it would at least delay new gold farming bots down for a little while until a Dragon Slayer script was successfully written. Trust me, they'll do it.

I used to not care about bots too much 6 or 7 years ago, but as an adult with less time to play, having to parse more to work, school, and chores my legit play time is limited and it really bothers me to have my grinding devalued by gold farming bots. IDC if they're Venezuelan or not; it's hard to tell the difference between them and other farmers.

290K bots banned in February alone?? With how many I see on an everyday basis, there'd have to have been 5 Million running in February alone. Really wish there was a way to get anti-bot measures and software techniques like whatever they've got in RS3 into OSRS. Not sure if that's possible with how the OSRS game is written and designed though.

There was mention of a tax. I would like to suggest a weight scale tax. Initially you don't pay a tax but the more you win, the more tax you pay. Causal players will hardly be affected, but rwters will get hit by the huge tax as their income goes up. frankly my dear, I couldn't give a dam. never had a river to build one on.

please don't mate the dragonfire shield require dragon slayer. it will crash the price as lots of people who hate to do quests will be unable to equip it (same as heavy ballista price drop compared to light).

My reasoning is that I've never seen bots with 60 attack use abyssal bludgeon. So I doubt they'll spend huge amounts of money on dfs also and if anything, it'll make it more fun for pkers to kill players with dfs in wilderness.

getting anti-dragonfire shield as quest item (like climb boots) is fair and reasonable tho. if a player can start the quest, they deserve to equip it. (this will enable pures to still equip it with a punishment of y'know actually doing the quests)

Good changes, I especially like that you're getting rid of auto clicking for Ardougne Knights. But... people auto click Nightmare Zone too, so why aren't you addressing that as its an even more serious problem?

Also, no gravestones. Give us back the old death mechanics. If your servers are secured against DDOS protection, then it is the player's responsibility to protect their IP and change it if ever necessary. Do not compromise the game for the sake of irresponsible and incompetent players. Items should appear for 2 minutes, show up to everyone for the last minute (so if you are playing with friends and got DDOS'd, they can still get your items).

Also you can freeze the timer so items will not appear until you log back in, should a DDOS occur.

Example: You get DDOS'd, and die, your items drop and then you logout within 5 seconds. The timer is at 1:55, and the items are not visible to anyone else for another 55 seconds. This timer will last forever at 1:55 until the player decides to log back in, so they can deny DDOSers any items, or get friends to help salvage some of the items.
Long live the Wilderness. Long live risk vs reward in PVM. Long live 2006.

I want to point out that I would like to have taken part in the survey, but I will not give a third party website, i.e. surveymonkey, an email address or any other information about my account.

I don't see why Jagex can't set up a survey on their own website, without using a third party site. You used to do this.

personally I'm ok with the current death mechanics, but wouldn't mind a small tax on death to get items back, as exists with gargoyle boss and vorkath currently.

If death mechanics reverted back to big losses, then no doubt the ddos attacks will increase again. As an ironman, I appreciate the things I worked towards getting and if I lost items that are very hard to replace because of a DC, I would feel quite negative about the game.
