"I could work six hours at minimum wage and then buy bonds instead of grinding on runescape!"

Seriously this is argument from someone who clearly has never worked a day in their life go flip those burgers guys! I'm sure you'll just be dying to come home and spend hard earned money on RS.

"B-b-but this will legalise RWT xDDDDDD"

Jesus christ you guys need to get over yourselves "RWT" is done by definition a third party, so you're not just subjectively wrong but objectively.

I don't really care if some rich oil baron wants to go and drop £300 for the money for 99 prayer, I don't concern myself with other peoples lives and neither should you.

What I do care about is legitimate means of which this happens rather than third parties getting involved and unless you've been in a coma and living under a rock there are MANY, weither it be in gold "swapping" from game to game or straight selling.
Would I want to actually buy a bond from another player so I can pay for my membership without actually having to bust out the plastic? Yes.

And remember guys (Incoming sarcasm) every update will kill the game, god wars will kill the game, slayer helmets will kill the game and dragon pickaxe and steam battlestaff getting a graphical update clearly would of killed the game too.

Phew Sure am glad we have this voting system!

I would not want to see bonds in OSRS even though I don't see what difference they'd make at this point. The game has already been changed too much by gold farm customers and rs3 gold transfers - they (and nmz to an extent) gave the game more of a private server feel.

If bonds come will they pave the way for future microtransactions? The reason why I no longer play rs3 is because of the incessant hounding of players with promotion after promotion of microtransactions. I hope that does not ever come to OSRS.
The point of the journey is not to arrive.

From Mod Jane's FAQ:

How does this affect me if I play Old School RuneScape?

Bonds will not be introduced into OSRS, so if you purchase a Bond the in-game item will only be held by your main game avatar. Because membership credit is shared across both games, if you redeem a Bond for Membership in the main game then you’ll also get the benefit of it for Old School access too.

Bonds will not be introduced, argument solved.

Unfortunately there is a decent sized list of examples where Jagex have gone back on their word when it comes to microtransactions.

I don't see why they would view this scenario any differently.

Well said

I used to actually support bonds but when it was put into the game it just didn't feel right, I hope they do not add them, I hope they look into other ways to deal with the gold problem.

But that's precisely the point: there is no 'gold problem' in OSRS. It is a RS3 issue because Jagex have been complete fools (surprise, surprise) in flooding the economy with gold.

The only people that bonds are going to be helping are poor people who, in my opinion, might want to consider whether getting a job would be a better use of their time, rather than sitting and playing a game they can't afford to play. Then, when they've earned some money they can purchase membership instead of whining about how difficult they're pointless existence is.

Common sense, people!

I left RS3 for this one reason. I am so done with pay-2-win games and osrs is where I went. There is no reason to spend real money to get ingame currency. We are more then capable to get our own money. Its the same thing as the G.E.. Adding Bonds makes things WAY to easy. Why make items in the game hard to get if someone can just spend money and buy it. Makes absolutely no sense. So my vote, if it comes to a poll will be an automatic NO. No reason to make the game easy. In my opinion, G.E. and Bonds can both stay out of osrs. This is a game for the men, let the kids play RS3.

There is one advantage of bonds, people can get membership without using their real money
But it is a huge microtransaction which old school should never have, if people are stupid enough to risk using a gold swapping clan then it's their own fault. In old school we should not be able to buy our way, maybe some people have cheated by transfering rs3 money but these bonds you're talking about aren't even well established with the exchange rates between games and such.

Yes we can use them for members, but if we had permanent F2P we would be bringing in a lot more new people (and old players) who are willing to try the game (again). With that new audience there will be a rise in membership.
You fear we'll all cancel our membership but honestly a lot of us are at a point were f2p would have no benefit to our character, and we have so much members items that f2p would just mess up our banks and stats.

No to bonds
Try and introduce F2P permanently
RIP Forums :(
Finally we have signatures in the surprise forum update. I'm Lewis, I play Old School & I've been playing since 2005.

I don't wanna see Bonds in OSRS.

Double Edit: The reason i don't wanna see bonds in OSRS, is because you can pay IRL money to achieve goals in OSRS faster.

How? Did you read the forum at all? What if the bonds were ONLY for RS MEMBERSHIP.

Bonds would be the worst thing that could happen to OSRS by a long shot. It's not worth it to sacrifice the integrity of the game by introducing legal RWT for some convenience when it comes to purchasing membership.

Anyone who cares remotely about this game should be disgusted at the thought.
