You're making the assumption that all old school players played in 2007. Very much false.

And 19-20 year olds aren't much better, student loans are OP.

It's not particularly false, after all that's the whole point of 2007, and you've posted later in this topic stating how so many topics pop up on the RS3 boards complaining about the spend limit (You state one a day), well there's at least as many topics that pop up, combined with hundreds of posts along the lines of 'I played in 2007, my opinion is better than yours, do not update the game'.

And I've just graduated from uni. If you have enough money from your student loan to be spending it all on Runescape, then your parents should stop lying to the tax man.

The very fact that this is being considered is exactly why Runescape is dead compared to what it used to be. Bonds, auction houses, and all the rest of that real world trade stuff is terrible for the longevity of a game. You can't give players items and expect them to stick around, go log onto a private server with all 99's and see how long you play without getting bored; building your account and working hard for things is 3/4 of the play experience.

these give the best game experiences;
- afk in NMZ
- afk while woodcutting
- afk while fishing
- click-drop-click-drop mining
... etc

That is something we could do, limit the amount of bonds an account can buy.

Honestly, I think this is the best solution. Make a limit of 5 bonds that can be bought per month. This would prevent what everyone fears, the mass buying of bonds in exchange for GP, and allow those of us that want to use bonds for membership to benefit and those who want to spend a little bit a month for an extra 7.5m.
this would just be a slight inconvenience, there will be less supply = more demand = prices go up = makes using up 1 bond on a new account a viable option then just transfer the gp over

Rough post.. need to go out now though so can't go in more detail

Lol... Airfare is still expensive. If it doesn't give you gold in game then I support. I knew this was coming sooner or later. No support.

You people don't realize that rwters don't add gold in game. They add resources and then those are alched for gold anyways. (Then you catch them and it's all gone)
Bonds simply just inject gold into the game and ruin the economy.

I doubt they would go higher than 200-300k over the price of converting to Rs3, though.

Wtf are you kidding? bonds??

So we can now buy 99 skills with bonds just like eoc scape?

Its obvious that the old school mods are controlled by the money hungry eoc mods.. The old school mods said they would never add pay to win/squeel of fortune to OSRS, but now they wanna add it *facepalm*

We've just sat down and worked out that to buy 99 prayer would cost about £300 ($500).

Hmm... that's actually not unreasonable at all. That's like half a week of work for me. Definitely put a cap on bonds.

I already did it on page 7, people don't care how much it costs, they freak out at any money.

Look at Prayer, that's around 105mil using dragon bones I believe. 105mil is equal to £315. How many players are really going to spend £315 on Runescape, just for 99 Prayer? And it's similar with all the other buyables that are actually worth something (Not cooking, fletching etc). In reality, I really don't think there'd be many people there to abuse
