Wtf are you kidding? bonds??

So we can now buy 99 skills with bonds just like eoc scape?

Its obvious that the old school mods are controlled by the money hungry eoc mods.. The old school mods said they would never add pay to win/squeel of fortune to OSRS, but now they wanna add it *facepalm*

We've just sat down and worked out that to buy 99 prayer would cost about £300 ($500).

I think more facts like this would be key to it passing. Putting it in perspective like that makes it seem less like a problem if someone wants to spend that much on a skill. Though, that's coming from me whom that is a lot of money to; for some people that wont be very much.

I already did it on page 7, people don't care how much it costs, they freak out at any money.

Look at Prayer, that's around 105mil using dragon bones I believe. 105mil is equal to £315. How many players are really going to spend £315 on Runescape, just for 99 Prayer? And it's similar with all the other buyables that are actually worth something (Not cooking, fletching etc). In reality, I really don't think there'd be many people there to abuse

Nice to see we were in the same ball park with the figures.

Yeah, just a shame that so many people seem to suddenly have thousands of pounds to spend on Runescape, or so you'd think with all the people who are freaking out over it.

Bonds (or any type of purchasable currency) completely degrade the value of GP and skills. This is a direct result of how the game functions and is unavoidable regardless of how you introduce it or how you "think" you might be preventing RWT. Some skills and materials can be purchased directly regardless of level (i.e. herblore). As far as RWT is concerned, you aren't going to undercut some botting company. People who are willing to engage in shady business are going to do so whether you support it or not is irrelevant to them (as much as I hate this, you need to accept it too). Quit trying to bring the mess that is Runescape 3 into our oldschool. The reason we buy bonds and then log directly off Runescape 3 and back onto oldschool is because we feel GP there is worthless so we don't mind spending it all and coming back on here where it still means a damn.

I said this years ago when all this ******** started cranking up again like it is right now (notice suddenly a bounty hunter blog, coincidence huh?) and I will say it again. Jagex, we understand what you are trying to do, but the only people you are going to really wind up hurting are your legitimate players at the cost of the few illegitimate. Should those sour few really dictate the entire motion of your focus on content updates? I think that is a bit silly don't you agree?

If you could only buy 5 bonds a day, it would take you three weeks to buy the bonds you needed to get the bones, then another week to bury them all, which is 4 weeks to 99 prayer.

For me its more about the Ethos of the game, and what bringing Bonds into it would represent. Bonds are very heavily associated with micro-transactions and RS3, things that this community actively tries to avoid being included in this game.
