I'm going to jump in here, because a lot of what I'm reading concerns me.
First of all, it seems the only reason that most of the people that are okay with it, is because of something that shouldn't exist in the first place, in my opinion anyway, game to game gold transferring. The transferring of RS3 gold to OSRS gold should not exist, period. It totally goes against the spirit of the game, and should be dealt with much like RWTing, because it has the same end effect (and often fuels such practices).
Anyway, that aside, this greatly concerns me because it seems many are willing to accept the micro-transaction crap little by little reading through this thread, which is exactly what happened in RS3 (along with the whole EoC thing which ruined PvP). I do not want to see that happen again. It seems there are a few others capable of seeing this slippery slope, but most haven't really seen the repercussions of an update like this. It's not that this update doesn't change much in and of itself, it will change some players mentality, much like the existence of game to game gold transferring has done. "Well x already exists, so allowing y to pass isn't much of a change." That's a very slippery slope my friends, just be aware of that.
