Shows how much people are interested in artisan when they come to the dev blog thread to discuss bonds and goldfarmers/rwters.

SMH stubborn ass j mods stop trying to a prove a point and just redo a skill PDC.

No one has any right to say that, "This is 07scape for a reason, you shouldn't add anything," when 78% of the people who voted in content poll #21 voted yes to the Ring of the Gods, Treasonous ring & Tyrannical rings. And let's just forget about the rings for a second. The WILDERNESS BOSSES ALSO PASSED. I didn't see the vast majority of the community saying, "don't add these, this is 07scape for a reason," when the idea of NEW RARE DROPS was a part of it. You people don't want this skill because this is 07scape, you don't want this skill because it won't make you money. There is absolutely no reason you can say this shouldn't be added because this is 2007. Motherlode mine, rooftop agility courses, the graceful outfit, lava dragons, the shield wards, boss pets, dragon pickaxe, the new rings, nightmare zone, elite clues, third age weapons, ranger's tunic, holy sandals, dark crabs, resource area, autochat, pvp worlds, clan wars, god wars dungeon and the god swords. None of these were in the original release of Old School Runescape and if you people really didn't want OSRS changed then you wouldn't have had these added. It's completely reasonable and understandable if your reason for not wanting this skill added is that it's just flat out not a good skill. If that's your reasoning then by all means vote no. But don't kid yourself if you're reasoning is that OSRS shouldn't be changed. We crossed that line a long time ago.

Bonds won't solve the botting problem.

there no reason for goldfarming to exist if jagex sells bonds

Goldfarming will still be the better value, and people who already do buy gold will not stop for bonds.

Right? I can't wait for the OSRS community to crap all over bonds so this kid can go back to RS3.

people train slayer to get to a certain level to get a go at a certain monster for their valuable drops. I think artisan should also have very very little of these things that you can only do during a task, it will force people to train it on and on, which i don't like personally.
the 2-handed crossbows i think could have a strength level to operate not to create, as this was supposed to be a skill to help out skillers.

you also said that artisan xp would be rewarded according to the xp you get from the artisan skill. wouldn't this make people only go for the 1st artisan master and chop their 100 oak logs in 3 minutes rather than cut their yews an hour. this would give tremedosly more xp i hour

maybe have some materials that function like the strange rocks in eoc, that you have to go and get a piece from every skill and cant get another one until you complete it, and that material could be used for the 2-handed crossbows, somewhat like skiller bossing i think ;)

PS: if a jagex person replies, is it possible to message me or something? this post is on the milionth page

Just to give you guys some feedback since you worked so hard on this skill. I selfishly voted no as although it sounds quite good, I don't want it released until after I've maxed and am looking for new things to do. I have enough goals for now, sorry :)

Looking forward to the diary requirements being published as something to aim toward.

My vote is as of right now is no.

I've been playing rs for 7 years with 250+ days of hours logged into the game. I quit playing about 2 years ago, and just recently started playing again for OS scape.

I would like the "Artisan skill" a lot more if you keep it simple like slayer, however it seems like you are trying to cram way too many items and bonuses into it.

Here are the main problems i see with the concept for the skill so far.

1. This skill is meant to focus on non-combat skills, but you have many combat rewards which doesn't make sense to me.... We don't need more crossbow's, and especially not "Harder hitting" ones. Crossbows are already overpowered as is, and once again this skill is suppose to focus on non-combat skills. Another thing is we don't need more armors that give combat bonuses. There comes a point where new armors and weapons just become duplicates of others with just a new appearance, which is one of the things i believe ruined rs3 (many items become pointless).

Your branching to far off of the actual Artisan skill with all these new things you can make.. Most of these ideas don't relate to the artisan skill at all except for the fact you need a high enough artisan level to make them.

I really like the Artisan Tools idea because the items actually relates to the skill itself. Some more nice Artisan tools you could add are
-a knife you can wield for fletching.
-a needle combined with a chisel that doesn't require thread, and you can wield.

Basically any tools that help you SKILL (non-combat) would be nice.

However one thing i really dislike about the tools is that the Artisan pickaxe/hatchet should be better than the dragon pickaxe/hatchet because you need 95 smithing along with 85 artisan, and all they give is a slightly better chance of receiving a birds nest/gem! That's ridiculous requirements for something that matches the dragon pickaxe/hatchet items that only require lev 61 in the skills they pertain to.
