Oh no, I don't think you understood what I meant by Risk: These proposals are creating a new market. New markets generally stimulate a given economy. With new markets come risk (Risk is completely subjective, but think about it in RS terms, not RL terms). With risk, it limits as to who will participate in said market (due to fear of sorts), thus limiting the supply, and
if
the demand reacts properly, will create a boom. That is what I meant by risk (in a sense. Again, Risk is completely subjective).
As for your analogy, Yes- that would be logical since you're risking to get a better chance at something, like how it has always been in RS. However, that does not imply that everything should have a safe alternative as it eliminates risk, thus suffocating any new market that should arise.
The concept of risk and reward applies to real life as well as Runescape.
As for your point of new risk/new market, on paper it may seem like a good idea. However, the type of risk this entails is not on par with the rewards. There is 1 fishing spot, 1 resource area, etc. That is way too predictable and easy for PKers. If people know that this is the ONLY place to obtain such an item, people will camp there I guarantee.
The risk of PvP should reward by providing an enhanced rate of obtaining already-existing resources or provide a higher exp gain. Content itself should not be limited to this type of risk. I'd rather try to survive against one of the GWD bosses than a PKer. That's how dangerous this place is.
Besides clues, I don't know of any higher level (desirable) content being limited to complete PvP risk. That should already say something.
