What happened to lets ban ragging?

Atleast no xp rates would be increased with this.

Suppose ragging is okay if its on skillers right?

"Anti griefing mechanics
We recently have had a discussion about griefing in PvP areas and we believe the best solution is to encourage PKers to move away from the safe zones to PK. We think rejuvenating the Wilderness is a great start to that, but there are some smaller updates we can make to solve some of the common ways of griefing. We would like a crystal bow to revert to a seed should you die with one, and we can remove the spam created when you eat a rock cake."

You do highlight an interesting point though. One of the problems we came across when reviewing the thread about ragging was that everyone had a different interpretation of what ragging was. With that in mind any attempt to create a rule about this was just feasible. On top of that there was not a high demand for any new rule, this is why we think content solutions are significantly better.

True ragging only occurs in pvp and edgeville low wild. Make people to move around the vast areas of wilderness and that's pretty much it.

The untradeable loot problem is similar to ragging. People do not risk their untradeables 1 map off safe areas. In high wilderness anything can happen when returning for lost items. ;) Well, cash is always nice but should you give people chance to get their items back from ground, if they fail and items disappear, cash should appear.

The problem with allowing players to get XP is it would encourage players to stand there and just splash spells at each other. They would not have anything worth PKing. We'll poll this piece of content separately and if it doesn't pass, it won't go in.

This could be fixed by simply making it so you only get half xp (or whatever) if you do a non combat spell. Like you said, the whole point of the fountain is to alch so you would still get half the xp and be able to alch for free.

Or make it a fountain of nature or something where it'll only "give" you nature runes.

Not too sure on the whole fountain thing myself currently as I think allowing people to barrage etc for free is a dodgy area and could ruin pking (and encourage ragging in some fights that extend to the castle), so I'd much prefer it being a fountain of nature than what you posted.

Exactly. Tbh, if all PKing is done in levels 1-5, that's just boring and those people deserve to be griefed.

Deep Wilderness PKing was a 2004-2007 phenomenon, and only in bringing that back can we fix this game (NOT by adding garbage 2008+ content like PvP Worlds that did nothing but hurt the Wilderness...).
Long live the Wilderness. Long live risk vs reward in PVM. Long live 2006.

Fair point.

I feel like alot of the pvmers & pkers are assuming alot about skillers. Whilst risk v reward is what their playstyles revolve around it is not what skilling involves and never really has.

The priority for skillers is either cash or xp, xp does not and should not ever have a real risk v reward system, grinding is our system. The more effort you put in the higher youre exp rates and the faster you complete your goals.

However this leaves open the cash seeking side of skilling. Which imo could fit into the wildy to meet the aims of this rejuvination, if cash methods of around 500k p/h are added, that will entice skillers there but without being op or too rewarding.

All in all im pleased weve moved away from xp rate luring of skillers into the wild as something that requires you to grind hundreds of hours shouldnt have a risk v reward feature because thats simply too much.

- Dust Runes -
Common, 15-25

- Mud Runes -

- Slimy Ooze -
Uncommon, 5-10 -
Non-tradeable. use on farming patch to prevent disease. Doesn't work on trees.

- Crystal Trinket -
Rare, 1 -
Use them on certain items to imbue their special attacks. Similar to a whip vine, your pker gets the trinket and the weapon that it was attached to. See page 125 for spec ideas.

- Shade Spirit -
Between uncommon and rare, 1 -
Tradeable. Ask the witch in Edgeville about it and she will yell at you for bringing a cursed item into her house. She will put a curse on you that REMOVES XP but will let you choose which combat skill is affected (up to 5 times per account so it can't be abused. No skills over 10) This will be for pures or skillers who level the wrong skill. I was thinking it could be like an aura that floats in the air only visible to the killer of the monster. Use something like an impling jar on it to capture it.

- Amulet of Hiding -
Between Rare and Very Rare, 1 -
Makes you invisible to aggressive monsters while you wear it.

Thoughts?

Not bad ideas, I don't like the shade spirit or trinket though personally.
