Personally, If I can vote no to this new skill, I will. Unfortunately I can offer no advice on how to improve this new skill so by all means ignore this post as I am but a single player :3. However, I can say that a new skill would change OSRS into something new, and after all the time I've put into runescape over the years, I would hate to stop playing altogether. I simply believe OSRS does not need a new skill. I play for nostalgia reasons and love it for exactly what it is. I like the hard work and small changes being made to perfect the game but a new skill would be to big of a change for me.

I also realise that a new skill was voted in 3rd place for wanted content but if I wanted the new skills I would simply continue playing EOC.

Totally agree, in my opinion there are 2 big reasons why runescape 3 is bad : EOC and the fact that every single update made to the game were making it easier. Runespan, the new automatic fires, home teleports anywhere on map and without cooldown, etc. If your going to start making the game easier we will go in the same direction as runescape 3 is went and you will lose all of us who simply enjoy how runescape was in 07.

shapeshiting in artisan

method -
crafting to make plain greegree i.e greegr**, oak greegree, redwood greegr**
(potentially use the new logs)
hunting to get part of the animal i.e bones, pelt, feather
herlblore to assemble the specific gree gree i.e cheeath greegr**(un)
magic to enchant and get finished item. cheetah greegree

greegrees -
agility; cheetah
fishing; crane
mining; mole
woodcutting; beaver
hunting; wolf
thiefing; raccoon

Each skill would have an unique animal but a higher artisan could make better quality
i.e baby cheetah, teenage cheetah (but better names)

gathering -
the lowest quality would require current in-game resources
the greegrees would transform you for a limited time in which you could gather artisan unique resources
these resources would be used to make better greegrees which will let you gather better resources and so forth

non gathering -
these would simply give you benefits whilst using other skills
for example turning into a raccoon could give you a temporary thiefing level bonus/extra loot/decreased failure chance

non skill -
aesthetic; what good would shapeshifting be if you couldn't look cool
of course everyone running around as animals 24/7 would be stupid so these greegrees will need charges and cooldowns of some sort
practical; these would give you non skill related perks such as longer run time, turning into a rat for shortcuts

of course the specifics are just suggestions but i think this is a really nice framework for a good aspect for artistry

Original message details are unavailable.
This is 100% better than the other draft! However I feel that you're still not quite there. I know you said that the XP rates will be balanced but I need to be assured of that. I don't want anyone to be able to gain faster Runecrafting XP than whats already in the game.

Also I'm really against the Idea of any sort of combat boost with artisian.

However I think with Artisian you could introduce a brand new rune. Not a combination rune like the doom rune but a brand new one. Let's give this rune the name Artisian for lack of a better name. And with a brand new rune how about a brand new spell book? With artisian you will be able to unlock new spells in the Artisian spell book. This spell book would contain a lot of skilling spells and maybe a few new combat spells. I'm not going to go in to great detail but players have been wanting a new spell book and a great way to introduce that would be through Artisian!

Great idea

No thank you. Just no.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here. The whole point of us PAYING to be playing ( And starting all over from ground zero, which i found completely unnecessary) Os rs is so that we don't have to suffer the "Runescape" that was so eagerly bastardized and abused by Jagex. If we keep adding things to old school runescape, how is it not just another rs3-rs4?

What's next? are they going to start jamming micro-transactions down our throats every login and chance they get? Are they going to release "bonds", under the ruse that it does anything but profit jagex as the #1 RS gold salesman on the market?

I understand some people will want content updates. That's fair. You can only eat Vanilla ice cream so much before you need a new flavor. But is THIS what we, the PAYERS and players, are going to accept as a positive and welcome change?

IT ISN'T EVEN A REAL SKILL FOR SARADOMIN'S SAKE. It's literally just another 1-99 time waste based on every other skill. it's like the slayer of skilling, and is easymode for a production team. IMO this wasn't creative, thought out or even remotely an intelligent approach to the scaper's cries for more.

This is 100% financial and to membership longevity, much like making us start over at lvl 3. I don't think it has anything to do with satisfying the players.

If they really wanted us happy, they'd fix wealth rings, bots, prayer, bird eggs(wth? are you already planning summoning or do you just enjoy wasting our time with meaningless junk?) and the USELESS randoms i get at least 3 times an hour.

I'm voting a No on Artisan. I hope you'll join me.

I will vote no because this is not OLDSCHOOL runescape. I understand a few tweaks, some new cosmetic content, maybe even a new item or quest here and there, but an entire skill? Kind of way far off the goal to preserve an old version of runescape.

It seems the addition of this skill will make many skills easier. Which judging by the other posts, NOONE WANTS. If you want this to be implemented so you can get your 99 faster instead of enjoying osrs for the beauty it is, go back to EoC. We don't want you polluting our 07 memories.
