If you release a new type of rune that can act as two types of runes, then will you have to have a task to make them? Or, will it be similar to the Slayer skill where you can kill a creature without a task after a certain level?

If this is the case and the gathering items (like redwood) are tradable, then what is stopping someone from buying thousands of those logs and bringing in an influx of a certain item which may lower the price, and render other pieces of equipment irrelevant in relation to the price/power? The market is mostly player controlled, but there are control variables that the developers need to put in place to make sure that older content is not rendered irrelevant due to the new content. Sharks are more expensive than monkfish because they heal more than monkfish do. If sharks were cheaper than monkfish due to an influx of sharks being introduced into the game, then monkfish would cease to be relevant and would subsequently become dead content.

You guys need to place these protective measures in control so that things like this don't happen. So will someone have to be self sufficient and gather their own resources to eventually craft a tradable item or will the resources to create that item also be tradable?

Besides that I'm not sure what else I don't like. As long as the new content doesn't render old content to dead content, it all seems well.

This skill is looking to be like what it really should be -- a skill created to help revive the already existing skills in the game.

I like the idea of revisiting skills that I've already maxed out to benefit myself, but my views reflect what a lot of other people seem to be thinking. I don't want this game to die because no new content was released -- but I don't want this to be eoc scape either. I haven't found any issues with the content you guys have developed so far, but I don't want hard to train skills like runecrafting to become dead content because the new update is the go-to way to train the skill. The same goes for every other skill. If I feel like hunting red chins from 62-99, then those existing experience rates (and I know chins are a pretty bad example, but I mean to say that the experience rates for whatever pre-existing content depending on the skill level) should still be comparable. An already existing level 70 hunter creature should be comparable to a new level 70 hunter creature.

In RS3 you can stay in runespan for a week or two and you're done. I don't want that to happen to any skill.

Regardless of my negativity in this post, I am very excited to see how the Artisan skill works out. I'll be sure to fit in as much skill training as I can between then and now.

Not a lot of people take the time out to vote(including me), but this time I have to add another NO to this idea. A new skill would defeat the whole purpose of OSRS. I like the idea and it seems pretty cool, but give it to RS3 or something. If they don't want the new skill, that would say a lot about the idea.

Your dumb if the only reason you dont want this added is because you dont want any new skills at all.

You call me dumb, yet your grammar sucks. Nice job. You have no idea what I said so you can't read either. OSRS hasn't been around that long... all the fast-pace plans and updates were a bit overwhelming.

I think most of this content looks absolutely fantastic (except for the adapted pickaxes and hatchets, I see no real need for those). But why must we cram all of this into one new skill? Why can't we take these great ideas and add them to pre-existing skills in order to flesh them out?
