Im voting no because this changes Old School Runescape too much. I play this game because it is the best game of all time. Change isnt always a good thing guys. This game is the definition of nostalgia for me, and by adding artisan + the trading solution, you're taking that away. I wish you would keep the game as is. Please reconsider this joke of a new skill

Was looking forward to it, Now I feel no point towards this skill, what is the benefit towards having high artisian?

Ability to make low level mage gear and clothing

If this is aimed to benefit pures who pk, then I can see people who would buy it, if this gets a defence requirement or really bad stats (lower mage bonus than ghostly robes) then don't bother adding this as 1-30 takes an hour.

Double flatpacks
,
Even though no body makes flat packs?

Adapted pickaxes and hatchets – You can make pickaxes and hatchets which have no combat requirements to equip and no combat stats. Creating these will give you smithing XP.

Don't bother adding this unless you make dragon pick/axe weildable , Why would a skiller want to equip a rune pick if they can use dragon.

Combining a death and chaos rune

I can just imagine house expensive these will become and I doubt they will be used.

What I would like to see though is a bank(you need high construction) in a POH and a combining machine, (like the one from eye of glophrie quest) which can combine any runes together, make them untradeable and give small xp.
And what do you need to make these banks/deposit box?
Carved redwood (You need crafting/fletching to make) + artisian to make,
Carved quartz (You need crafting/construction to make) + artisian to make.
Maybe you have to hire and pay a banker?

As I said high construction requirements for a bank 80 artisian+ construction for a bank (requires you to pay for a banker)
70 for deposit box with 70 artisian and 90 for a bank chest (doesnt require a banker).

Just a rough idea of how I'd like to see artisian to be linked with a skill

And maybe untradeable advanced nets/cages which allow you a chance to catch multiple fish, so an advanced lobster cage is 80 fish/artisian advanced harpoon is like 99 fish and artisian.
This would be good as I doubt goldfarmers would go through the struggle of training high artisian.

And for farming a chance to regain your seed (as seeds are becoming harder to get IMO)

Advanced axe
could be increased birds nest

So advanced tools, you get the jist.

And for clothing, maybe elemental armour which allows you to combine/enchant a talisman to a set of clothing (The ones from canafis or craft the robes) enchanting the robes gives same stats as ghostly robes but with a small damage bonus to the chosen rune.

Death robes + 1% damage whilst casting death spells, requires MEP2 to weild.
Combine BlackRobes with a talisman (or enchant the robes using 1 talisman so you dont lose the talisman) Using runecrafting skill to enchant and crafting skill to make the robe (or buy from canafis).
Also has a small chance of making a extra rune.
Allows access to altar without talisman/allows you to create rune without talisman.

Just rough ideas.
As I am not happy with the current ideas

The ability to combine items in game or enhance seems noteworthy.

Combining:
Combining two granite mauls to be reshaped into a granite 2-hander.
Combining two dragon armor items to make a superior dragon item.
Combining other things to enhance properties.
snakehide with dragon hides.
mystic with a new mage type armor.

Enhancing:
enhancing godswords with better functional special attack properties(colored hilts).
zgs(crimson red hilt):multi barrage spec from hit spot
bgs(brown hilt):reduces spec cost bar to 50% usage
Arma-gs(light green hilt):ability to hit frequently higher on spec but costs 100%
sgs(blue hilt):greater health/prayer restoration rates

I have a wonderfull statement to make, Mod Mat every update should be possible
but keeping it realistic is something different.
You shouldn't do stuff like this guys said about seismic runes,
Banking and talking to a banker is something of it's own and shouldn't
be able to mix up with magic/any skill, it's got to do with money and the bank.
just try and keep it realistic, comfort isn't necesarie you'll gain alot of people for a short while, and then lose em all.
Some new doesnt have anything to do with something easier
you haven't released anything thats new without being easier since i started playing 07

I think this should be polled immediately, because i believe a large part of the community is not behind this skill. Polling with options such as "pick the one that most applys to your feelings on the skill"
Poll Options

- im happy with the way the skill looks overall.
- needs heavy revisions to be made but i support the concept
- i dont think we need any new skills at this point
- i want a new skill, but i believe it should be something other than Artisan.

I stand strongly behind the last option, that
we want a new skill, but not Artisan,
because i believe its been pushed along without seeing an overall opinion on the skill yet, via polls.
It was only voted over the other options due to the overall poor choice of options.
The forums only reach a small portion of the community, and from what ive seen in game, there is not much support behind the Artisan concept, at all. By polling this, you can see if further time invested into the skill is effective or a waste of time.

I do believe OS runescape needs a new skill, but Artisan is not it.
The overall concept is not something that will be done in game, and would only be grinded out for the rewards (if they offer better xp rates) and ditched afterwards. It doesnt feel like its own skill, and by piggybacking off the other skills, it feels fake.

Overall
, i think new skill concepts need to be polled to see if the overall community is behind the concepts at all, because i feel artisan in any form would be a waste of developers time.
