Getting herblore xp by burning logs? gonna make that skill way to easy to level up.
And i dont like bonus damage to creatures in any way, so if these 2 points still stand then ill vote no.

I did like this version of the skill much better than the first you posted though, so keep making small tweaks and i might vote yes :P

"We don’* want to devalue the effort players have put in to getting their skills where they are and we want to maintain the ethos that those who put the hard work in will get the benefit of higher skill levels."

Thank you! This is the best thing I've read in quite a while! This is what ruined newscape for me and I'm so glad you realise this now.

These changes offer solutions to the 2 problems I mentioned in the previous blog (devaluating other skills and giving Artisan an ironmanfeeling). I can't say I'm 100% convinced since I want to know the exp rates + the exact impact this will have on other skills but I think you're on the right path. This skill looks really promising.

I did before suggest to you
@ModMatK
about some Artisan Skill Benefits I feel others might like to see added to add more benefits into the skill. Maybe you could add some I've suggested if they seem fit?

Lol, read a little better. You get herblore xp for grinding the coal and applying it to the log, THEN you get extra fming xp when burning the log.

Personally, your suggestions look alright, but with no real understanding as to what they do there is no way I can agree or disagree.

I feel that you guys are taking a step into the right direction. The suggestions are pretty nice and the added perks are looking promising (can't wait for shortcuts with construction!) However, I feel we need more benefits.

You spoke about having this skill making other skills useful, why not have it include things like herblore? Or prayer? Thieving? Farming?

I haven't thought of many ideas, but my point is standing that with Artistan we should try to include a little of every skill to increase their uses and their benefits. It would also allow to have more and more rewards. There are limitless possibilities to
what perks Artistan can give to each skill.

And that is where the issue lies. Whilst there are some interesting rewards for this skill, it feels like a cheap rip off of slayer involving novelty content which will wear off pretty quickly. I realistically do not see people taking the time to make combination runes, they never bothered much before - most just come out of slayer drops - and the rates for creation will always be too slow to encourage their production. The other rewards are arguably skilling gimmicks which do not match the top-tier rewards offered by slayer. I strongly feel that unless there are (rare to obtain) top-tier rewards from the skill that go beyond a grind for the cape, it will be dead content. Few people would bother with it when similar amounts of effort from slayer provide immense rewards (and profits).

NTY SOUNDS LIKE EOC RUINING RUNESCAPE AGAIN...

* totems giving combat boosts?*
*Combining picaxes* - will make current picaxes worthless and useless

* combining runes* = crashing rune markets

sorry to many new stuff in one update.. some people find it hard to keep up with the slayer dungeon update and don't know its there and tridents etc / lava dragons / resource dungeon .. to much new stuff in short periods of time.

How is this even related to the EoC. Your logic is completely garbage.

How will combining runes crash the market? They need to be made with existing runes.

Combining pickaxes won't reduce the demand. Your argument is invalid.

Not sure about the combat boosts. Perhaps they are not coming out. You can buy the boosts anyway. Argument invalid, perhaps they are a little overpowered, but they said they will add them carefully.

They shouldn't slow down updates just because certain people can't keep up with them.

Most of your arguments are invalid, there's not much to complain. Move on.
