Old school Runescape? Jagex you never know when to quit with the updates. I dont want to play EOC, thus I play OLD SCHOOL. I'll be starting over AGAIN probably soon because you'll give these vote happy scrubs the option to update this game right up to EOC. You cant just leave something good the way it is and you're going to lose another customer yet again.

I feel like Jagex is pushing this Artisan more than they should, and I dislike it.
I might be wrong though, as you by now probably have guessed I'm against the new skill.
I can see where you are coming from, but they did promise this being polled and tweaked a bit so I'm not sure what you expect to happen. Like do you think they will just drop it and not do what they said?

Ok, thank you for the response, I feel indeed they should do what they said.
I shall clarify what I expected to happen.
The people against the skill were promised a poll in which they could vote as well. Date for this was 18th of June. There was also a promise as you say that the project would be worked over by Jagex, which has now happened. I guess what I miss is the poll. By saying they are pushing artisan I mean they keep the promises they gave in favour of the new skill, working it, polishing it applying fixes, including feedback, and neglect the promises made that would end it, the poll.

I don't really oppose the new blog and reworked edition in it self. But lacking the Yes/No poll that was also promised it does make me feel left out yet again. And lied to actually.
The only hope I am left with is that I get to voice my vote in 'a few weeks', or whatever was said on page 2. Well, I do hope this will be kept. Though a few weeks can certainly be stretched without being broken.

I think the inclusion of gathering skills is fantastic!

If I have understood it correctly though the maximum artisan xp would be given if items were not just gathered but crafted too? Is this correct? Is it possible to allow players to just gather and not craft at all to still get the most efficient xp rates for artisan?

From a purely selfish point of view I've got 99 in all the crafting/producing skills and have left the gathering ones till last.

Cheers.

It's looking good, but I wouldn't prioritize gathering as much. Have both options open, to craft or to gather. This way the economy will be boosted as people that prefer crafting will need resources. People that prefer gathering will have someone to sell their newly gathered resources to, and thus creating a cycle that prevents certain items to be of no value. Furthermore, this being a purely skill based matter, I'd go easy on the buffs you grant to combat using this skill.
