The first Dev Blog on this left me very unexcited but this IS AMAZING!

It's awesome to see how much you guys actually listen to your player-base.

The Construction shortcuts are sweet! Love that you were able to incorporate that into this skill! Good job Team!

Here are some things I'd like to see:

Metals

Zinc Ore
Smelted along with copper to make Brass bars.

Brass Bars
Can be crafted into brass necklaces, brass bracelets, and brass rings.

Aluminum Ore
Construction material, making tin foil hats. Could be used in Cooking to reduce burn rates/eliminate burning.

Magnesium Ore
Used to make Fireworks, granting Firemaking experience when lit.

Lead Ore
Construction material. Maybe it can make Construction shortcuts last longer/indefinitely.

Platinum Ore
Can be smelted into bars and then crafted into necklaces, bracelets, and rings.

* Necklaces
Teleports the player to a chosen resource. Which resource area it teleports the player to is random (including the Wilderness). Higher grade necklaces hold more charges.

Brass - Clay, Copper ore, Tin ore, Zinc ore, Iron ore, Regular tree, Achey tree, Oak tree, Small net fishing spots, Sea bait fishing spots, Hunting birds

Silver - Brass + Limestone, Silver ore, Coal, Pure Essence, Sandstone, Willow tree, Teak tree, Hollow tree, Fly fishing/River bait fishing spots, Butterfly hunting, Rabbit/Ferret hunting,

Gold - Silver + Gem rocks, Gold ore, Mithril ore, Adamantite ore, Maple tree, Mahogany tree, Arctic pine tree, Cage fishing spots, Kebbit hunting spots, Salamander hunting spots

Platinum - Gold + Runite ore, Yew tree, Magic tree, Harpoon fishing spots, Monkfish, Chinchompa hunting, Deadfall hunting

Bracelets
Increases the chance of obtaining ores/logs/game/fish while performing skilling activities. A charge is used up for each resource obtained. Higher grade bracelets have more charges.

Rings
Gives a chance to smelt ores/incinerate logs/cook fish while harvesting resources. Higher grade rings have more charges and grant a higher chance.

-or-

Teleports the player to an artisan of choice.

Of course the new resources would need to be fit in as well.

Also, I still don't like the idea of totems giving bonus damage against certain monster types. That should just be scrapped.

Combination Runes

Here's some names I came up with.

Decay rune - Mind + Death rune combo
Doom rune - Death + Chaos rune combo
Desolation rune - Death + Blood rune combo
Empty rune - Soul + Death rune combo
Life rune - Soul + Blood combo

Quartz Figurines

Not a big fan of this idea... maybe these figurines can be placed on an altar to give a greater Prayer recharge (similar to monastery) or give bonus things like Hitpoints restoration, run energy restoration, etc.

I like the combining of runes, the incentives to help crafting become more popular, and the new ore and logs help revive, atleast temporarily, skills that have been unchanged for years. The only thing I think that deviates from this plan is timing. I'd say most players still have skills that are at level 1 and have hopes to level those skills in the future, and might feel pressure if a new skill comes out that they will fall behind, although this skill might be perfect to raise those skills (like runecrafting) from the ground up.
Release this skill in like 3 months, let the suspense build, review the plans and keep releasing developer blogs about it every once in a while. A few more months of osrs in its purest form not intruded by any new skills wouldn't hurt anyone :) after all, we are all here because we loved the 07 in all its glory, and left because massive changes occurred in a short period of time. Take your time with this, it seems like it will merge nicely into the game, but don't rush it. Change is good, but if you learnt anything, its that radical change is bad.

I say keep OSRS the way it is. We don't need a new skill. With all of these updates it's no longer going to be OSRS. This game should be how Runescape was back in the year 2007. Some updates are fine, such as adding the quick prayer button and all of that. You even included an option to turn all of that off, so we could maintain the Oldschool Runescape feel. In my opinion, those were great updates. But now you are adding all of these new weapons, bosses, and possibly a new skill. It is impossible to just turn off those types of updates. I must say, I don't remember a Dragon Pic, a Trident of the Sea, or a skill called Artisan, back in the year 2007. "Oldschool Runescape" is defiantly losing its "Oldschool".
