I also think OSRS doesn't need a new skill. I personally want the old school part of OSRS hang around a bit longer before a new skill comes out. It has only been a year since OSRS came out after all..

Not a lot of people take the time out to vote(including me), but this time I have to add another NO to this idea. A new skill would defeat the whole purpose of OSRS. I like the idea and it seems pretty cool, but give it to RS3 or something. If they don't want the new skill, that would say a lot about the idea.

Development is a multiple step process. Its only smart of them to start the critical thinking and rough drafts of something while they are modeling and scripting something else.

The only thing I don't like is the combination runes. If it's polled with the combination runes I'm afraid I'd actually vote no to the whole thing. Combination runes are already the fastest xp in runecrafting, and that's only combining elemental runes. Combining things like chaos/deaths would have even higher xp and produce a rune that's actually useful and would sell, basically making a mockery of everyone who made lava runes and lost a lot of money doing so. Sure, they make much more back once they hit 91, but the thought of losing that money to start with, especially if they don't have it, puts a lot of people off and if you're able to profit from it instead with these new runes, it'd just be a big middle finger to all lava rune crafters.

This can only be done when youre on an artisans task, as said in the blog

Wow it's only been a year?? No wonder why the skill feels so overwhelming to OSRS. We barely had time to enjoy "Old School".

It's almost as if the OSRS mods have absolutely no regard for the old school aspect.

It's one thing to add some updates every now and then, it's something else to completely overwhelm the game with significant updates at a fast pace like they've been doing. They're appealing to the same people who were the downfall of the old game - the people who are constantly begging for more and more updates, updates which usually make the game easier. I'm concerned about what OSRS will look like 1-2 years from now. This was originally supposed to be an "old school" experience for "nostalgia hungry players" and they've turned it into something completely different.
