I have read the entire post and I havent seen anything which is worth spending the time/effort into this new, artisan, skill. (at least combat related, which a lot of people like about osrs) Let me give an example : the robes, dhide can just be replaced bij ahrims/black *hide. So why would you spend hours and hours to get these items without getting any form of advantage? They may be good for 1def pures but the majority of accounts are like 40+def at least. So this would be completely pointless. I remember the day dungeoneering came out ,the skill itself was rather a minigame in my opinion, but If you looked at the rewards there were actually some things which made the skill worth spending hours and hours on. Thinking about the chaotic maul/rapier/xbow/mage necklace/bone crusher/new prayers etz etz. I do like the idea behind this artisan skill, but unfortunately the rewards aren't good enough to participate. If there would be some good, combat related, rewards (like new gear/weapons with higher bonusses than bandos/tentacle even +1 or +2 str bonus would make the difference) I would support this, even though I would've liked to see an other skill pass the poll. But with these rewards it would be definitely a NO for me. They basically only give an advantage for low level players/skillers. Imagine what would happen if you would bring out an untradeable weapon which would have a max hit of 26 without gear on (while tentacle/whip has 25). This item wouldnt be overpowered at all but it would mean that at least any staker would be forced to participate in this skill, otherwise he would lose massive odds. That's what i'm talking about, it doesnt need to be overpowered to give a slight advantage over someone else, who doesn't have that particular item. Something worth participating in the skill

Hmmm...

While this does look like a well thought out and well-developed skill idea, I'm finding myself disappointed by the Artisan skill. My opinions may be 100% personal, but I don't like the idea of "another" slayer skill. I never liked slayer myself, as none of its innovations really excite me, and I think the Artisan skill will leave me with a similar sense of dissatisfaction. I was hoping that one of the more original skills would beat it out. Oh well... I suppose beggars can't be choosers.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE could you put an option on the vote to implement this as a minigame/task system rather than a skill.

i.e Do you want us to implement artisan into the game?
1. Yes, as a skill.
2. Yes, as a minigame/task system.
3. No, not at all.

I would most definitely support this being polled. I'd love to see Artisan as a minigame/task system, but not as a skill.

kinda disappointed in this being a skill at all since unlike ALL the other skills, sure using other skills can help train some skills but for almost all of them theyre not REQUIRED.... a lot of player on here do pvp and i'd say do not like skilling and now the new skill is 100% skilling based not to mention it seems like its very very biased towards crafting... everything needs crafting and im not sure if i saw anything smithing based when smithing is a skill required to train....

@ Mod Mat K

I will outline all the reasons why noone wants this new skill

1. Simply not a skill
A skill is defined as an ability in which you preform with expertise. The whole idea of Artisan is merely a an ability to follow orders from NPC's. It is in no way a unique skillset. Some may argue that everyone loves slayer. Well news flash, slayer isn't a skill either regardless of home much myself and others love it. It is still a task system and not a skill

2. Superior Items
The fact that there will be better cloned versions of existing craftables is outrageous. Noone wants to have 2 stacks of sharks in their bank (one for sharks and another for sharks (s)) Bank spaces are already pushed to the limit as it is.

3. Rewards
They are all either useless or over powered. We don't need special axes for skillers to wield at lvl 3. The 1 additional inventory space is insignificant. The boosts for combat are outrageous and over powered. Noone wants a skillers "task system" (because I refuse to call this a skill) that has an effect on combat.

4. Training
I'm calling the police right now, because your dealing drugs if you think I'm going to craft 100 vials... It boring. Sure that was just an example and there will obviously be more interesting tasks. But that still brings us to the first point. 1. Simply not a skill

The Ramifications
I will tell you right now that I will cancel all of my subscriptions the very second I notice Artisan is released and I know many who will do the same. Jagex seems to excel at making something good and then ******** it up completely. You need to be far more conscious of the new content your a dealing with and think of the implications before even allowing to to be polled.

My Suggestions

You train and kill monsters.. there slayers a skill now.............. that took a lot of thinking....

Just bring back summoning. This is rubbish.

summoning was boring and didn't do anything and it was annoying to train.

One of the most useful skills ever created, actually. It did devalue some things and that could be adjusted, but it was far, FAR from being a skill that ''didn't do anything''.
