Artisan sounds exactly like dungeoneering: Use other skills to gain xp in Artisan to improve your other skills with items gained from Artisan. Essentially it's going to make things easier the way Rs3 does with dungeoneering.

'In order to gain XP in the artisan skill you will need to show the various artisan masters your proficiency in making items'
^ Why don't we bring out a new skill that uses farming, Herblore and all the other skills linked to nature and call it the 'Naturalist' skill. It's exactly what Artisan is with creation related skills, not nature skills.
It's simply an add-on to crafting.

Remember the rumors of sailing skill years ago? No one believed it because it was useless, needless and mostly unwanted just like Artisan.
If only 49% want the update then please don't boast about it, if less than half the population wants it then it's not something to use as a reason to go through with it.

I want to play OSRS because it hasn't yet been ruined the way Rs3 was.

Also, the updates seem to be flying in at lightning speeds. I feel like one large update each or every-other month would suffice us players. As it is, I feel like if I don't check the website for a week I'll miss two polls, three dev blogs and an update.

I suggest slowing down the speed of updates and let the game rest and balance between recoding, lest we all burn out and lose our beloved game too quickly.

So far it's a no for me. I feel like this is going to add nothing but more tedious grinding to the game because you're probably going to get tasks that give slow XP. It's also going to be a pain to get all of the resources required to complete your tasks.

Not to mention that all of said resources will probably rise in price like crazy. Most supplies are already far too expensive as it is.


The entire game is grinding.... except for questing


a grind is considered anything that is based off of hard work and difficulty lv it doesnt matter if its fun to you or boring which would still make questing a grind especially depending on how much you do it and how difficult the quest is lol.

I agree with Kinkyy Bunny, the idea of skilling a version of slayer made Artisan sound appealing, which is ultimately why i chose it.

I also agree with Nemo Nation, I would prefer to keep the skill simple, and I believe it would lead to a lot more people being comfortable with the new skill and allowing it to pass a poll. Perhaps it would be best to release a very basic version at first, and in the future you can poll additions to the skill based on community feedback.

I'm sorry but this isn't deep enough or original enough, definitely a down vote from me.

There must have been far better ideas in the beginning stages, seems to me the 5 you polled weren't the best just the easiest to implement.

The five skills we were offered weren't very appealing or exciting to me. This game doesn't have half the amount of skillers let alone players it did 7-8 years ago. Many players are mains that don't have a reason or need to skill to make money. This skill is literally just a time sink. We need something that is exciting! Something that will bring the community together like dungeoneering or forestry. I'm not saying bring them into the game, because I personally didn't like dungeoneering.

Bring back F2p. Cut off 10 worlds (its pathetic how underpopulated worlds/wild is). Bring back a skill that requires some form of combat and working together to get the job done. Keep slowly releasing PvM monster, but don't make them too OP! Lastly, bring back BH crater asap and take away PvP worlds. There aren't more then 300 people online at once in world 325. Take away pvp worlds and leave BH crater/wilderness for pking. I know non of this is easy, but logically this is what needs to be done.

Sorry if this is sloppy and seems like a rant. I just tried posting an extensive post and it didn't go through. Good job on all the update so far :)
