After reading about this new skill, and reading everyone else's comments, I would have to vote no to this update.

One issue is the damage increases. Bosses are already easy enough to defeat without a 10% of 15% damage increase. Further, the damage increases would likely not be welcomed by the pking community. Abyssal tentacles are already capable of dealing 49 damage with strength boosting gear, armadyl godswords can deal 80, Dark bows can deal 96, and Dragon bolts(e) with crossbows can deal in the range of 65. The idols, and superior items like Dragon arrows (s), would make the amount of damage capable of being dealt very high.

Another issue is the games economy. Many resources and supplies have raised in value since the removal of the bots. This skill will cause many of these items to raise further, as they will be needed to train the skill. This is good for players who enjoy gathering and creating items, but also bad for players who enjoy PVM and PVP over skilling. The prices of supplies are high enough that skillers are making good money already, while activities like PKing and even PVMing can be not profitable if a rare drop isnt received. The new skill would make this worse.

The last issue is the rewards. Outside of the boosts in combat, I don't think the rewards for training this skill are good enough that players would see value in training it. Perhaps items that boost exp in other skills like woodcutting and fishing would make for suitable rewards? Or even items that just make training other skills easier similar to what was envisioned in the tools for 1 attack players.

This skill would probably be voted in with some tweaking, but maybe it would be a better idea to slow down on the updates or turn them in a different direction. I would prefer new mini-games like Clanwars or new challenges like bosses and dungeons to overcome rather than updates that change the economy or introduce stronger combat mechanics.

You want to know my reason why? This "Skill" is just a mixture of different skills thrown together. It feels like you couldn't think of a new skill so to speak so you just did this. It will lead to inflated prices as everyone will be buying the items to train this which will effect everyone massively. Also I feel like this is just the beginning, it will lead to really overpowered items or whatever and just make the game un-enjoyable. Why couldn't you have added a new skill where you actually have to gain a completely new resource like with woodcutting mining etc and x new resource contributed in some way to current skills. or if you really wanted to make "Slayers for skillers" Why not do exactly that? ie... "Your current task: Chop 800 yew logs" why not do that. I still wouldnt vote for it but its more plausible... It's too much of a change when you could be working on stuff that improves what we already have. You added wildy bosses.. new ways to train agility and mining.. Majority of players enjoyed those updates inlcuding myself so why not go back and do more things like that for the skills we have? Thank you.

I think we're on the right path with a new skill, and with a few tweaks I wouldn't mind adding this to the game.

I think that gathering skills should most definitely play a role in Artisan tasks; it almost feels necessary for the materials needed for other crafting tasks.

I agree with many others that the combat bonuses should be left out of the skill (no idols, no combat buff stats on clothes, etc.). Let's not overload the beautiful simplicity of OSRS combat with a plethora of random items.

A simple reward idea is adding a gold reward to the completion of tasks. The gold reward could be fair to the merchant costs of the respective items, and will help players make money who may not be into the merchanting aspect of the game (for instance, if a player cuts 100 yews and would usually sell them, but the Artisan skill may want those logs to be used for another assignment, the player would still be rewarded gold for the time spent gathering resources).

I don't know, I'm a little on the fence about it; with the flood of new cosmetic items entering the game with the recent update, plus this, I'm afraid the appearance of the game will become unrecognizable such as in RS3.

I think what we all want is something that inspires us to use the skills we love to train, I believe this skill complements that, but I am uneasy about the plethora of new combat items.

Updates are good but be really careful adding the new combat stuff. What makes this old system of combat and gear great is the simplicity of it. Don't complicate it please, it will ruin it. That is my concern about new updates. What i really would like to see update wise is the new area on the map and new quests/adventures. Don't flood this game with new weapons and armor, we all saw what it did to the other game. Thanks for all the work you do and all the effort that makes this game better, but if something isn't broken, don't fix it!!!

Ehh, to be perfectly honest I would never trust the design of a new skill to be made by a player.

I'm confident that the OSRS team is more than capable of creating a new, exciting, and healthy skill on their own. Create a few concepts, get some ideas from players, and let us help you create an amazing skill.

Don't leave the whole design up to players, there is no way in hell a player can design a good skill. If "I dislike all of these" was an option in the last poll (which really, it should have been) it would have won.

Please, sit down with the OSRS team, toss a few ideas and concepts around, ask us for our opinions and feedback, then flesh out a real design document for a skill that I won't laugh at.

Why do I need 94 artisan, 94 crafting and 85 firemaking for a 15% damage increase in pvp with the humanoid effigy?

Because otherwise everyone & their nan can obtain the benefits of this reward; driving the game into becoming a lot easier/ bringing in new OP things into the game that everyone can get a hold of.

The game is already becoming easier with every update. Also the effigies are tradable but require a firemaking level, is this supposed to somehow make firemaking useful?

Who knows because artisan will not likely pass a poll.

So far it's a no for me. I feel like this is going to add nothing but more tedious grinding to the game because you're probably going to get tasks that give slow XP. It's also going to be a pain to get all of the resources required to complete your tasks.

Not to mention that all of said resources will probably rise in price like crazy. Most supplies are already far too expensive as it is.

The entire game is grinding.... except for questing

Looking on a PvP perspective:
The Superior items is a HUGE NO!
Extra Damage on Weapons is a NO from me I'm afraid.
Also a NO on food healing extra, Dark Crabs couldn't pass the poll (looks like twice) for a 24 Heal, why make other foods heal extra? (Knowing the people who take part in the polls this will pass with flying colours)
The New clothing I'm not to keen on, looks all 1 Defence Requirement Gear? (Maybe ask the Pure Community on this one)

HUMANOID IDOL? would this work in PvP, if Yes, that wouldn't be so nice, sounds far too Overpowered.

Overall, I'm afraid I will be giving this Skill a NO!
