I agree with a lot of these responses.. Raids are meant to be end game, with some end game loot but without the power creep. I have some great suggestions for raid rewards and I think you guys should give it a read-

https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/4tl6uz/suggestion_alternative_raid_reward_ideas/

PS- The post suggests raid specific rewards that only work in raids too. Things to add end game kind of power to raids without having it effect the main game. It also suggests an idea for end boss rewards that will effect the game, similar to the shards from cerberus but for chest and leg piece armours. The tread gives full detail and explains it better. Thanks :)

Still looks underwhelming for what is supposed to be the hardest PvM in the game when they are released. There needs to be more uniques. The current items are nice though, but the Elder wand won't be very useful in pking if it has less damage than the staff of the dead. Its use will maybe be teleblocking only. I can see it being used in clan wars warring though..

Please don't make it so the standard drops make up for the lack of uniques, make more uniques instead and don't add high valued standard drops.

Like I mentioned in the last dev blog, the two-handed shield needs to be discussed as it was a fairly popular suggestion and would bring something completely new and exciting to the table.

How about more hy/tribrid friendly items, like boots with a bit of magic, range and melee bonuses.

A permanent unlock for a better Ava device, like Ava's alerter.

In PvP, we expect the elder maul to introduce a bit more variety. Currently, there are very few weapons to choose from which are viable in PvP.

Melee isn't the only one with this issue. In fact, melee actually have multiple choices that is viable..even the gmaul sees use at higher levels. So is it variety you want..or just more melee content? Considering that the dragon sword and maul will make
5
melee weapons (and this is excluding weapon buffs) within a year's time span...the answer to that is pretty damn clear to me.

The elder wand provides the best magic attack bonus in the game. Combined with its other bonuses and effects, the weapon would be very useful for training magic using ice burst or ice barrage.

You guys give melee (and range) PvP weapons, but when it comes to magic..."Here, have this to go train with guys."

Mod Ronan said :
The wand would also be a useful tool for PKers looking to land teleblocks, as they're keen to get magic accuracy wherever they can.

Except that magic accuracy is effected by diminishing returns much more than melee or range attack bonuses as the skill is already so accurate anyway. +3 accuracy over tox sotd will barely be noticeable if at all. Let's compare the difference assuming +90 mage attack and +93 vs a mage def roll of 19,000:

121 x ( 90 + 64)=18,634
121 x (93 +64)=18,997

DEF>ATK

18,634 / 38,002=49%
18,997/38,002=49%

It's not even noticeable ffs.

The elder maul is specifically for PvP, the ballista was specifically for PvP. How about doing the same for mage? It won't take much. A low hitting (max no higher than 32-35) weapon that allows us to use venge would be enough.
OSRS Mage Tank.

Believe magic to only be for support? Think again. It's just as valid of a Pking style as melee and range is.

Preserve should be changed to "Berserker" As it was back in pre EoC.
It used to have 15% boost, instead of 20% like it's now, but I think old name would be better anyways.

You guys are adding and renaming same things from pre eoc all the time, just keep the old name, i'm sure it will pass the poll

You really need to revert the Kodai Robes to their first iteration, before you butchered the stats. They're so incredible niche right now, not having much of a notable use. For PvM you wouldn't sacrifice tons of defence bonuses for a slight accuracy boost and some prayer, since you can't use a single protect prayer for nearly all bosses. For PvP you also wont use them because once again, having tons of defences is better than a few more accuracy, and Ahrim's also offer a lower risk.

You butchered Kodai's almost entirely because one guy asked you to on a Dev Q&A , because he didn't want his precious Ahrim's to be devalued. Yet many people on the last dev blog told you not to murder Kodai's like that. They were meant to be the Armadyl and Bandos equal, now it really isn't anywhere near.

Ahrim's is incredibly old, common and doesn't have much of a monetary value to devalue and "crash" in the first place. Not only that, but Kodai's being better, despite uninformed belief, wont instantly mean the death of Ahrim's... It'll still be the second best robe in the game, still cost way less and thus be easier to use/sacrifice for risky buisness.

Please, make Kodai not suck again, many of us was excited for a "Magic Bandos" set :(

^^^ This.

Here's my initial opinion -

I do like a lot of the new updates that have been coming to the game (I don't just mean this raids update for the future - I mean several past updates as well). However, I'm not too keen on the idea of bringing more and more BIS items to the game, as it brings back my memories of 2011-2012 before EOC.

For example, when dungeoneering came out and people started to realize just how powerful the chaotic rapier was, close to nobody had a whip anymore as it wasn't a viable alternative to the rapier. While the rapier did degrade, it was still a minuscule cost that didn't hinder the use.

To these BIS updates, I feel that bringing several new weapons and armour and prayers to the game will make certain items and aspects of the game obsolete. Let alone the fact that the elder wand would make ancient staves pretty much useless, some of the prayers seem too powerful as well. The divine grace prayer would make stamina potions no longer a necessity for many accounts, as if you could just run from altar to altar you'd never run out of energy.

Also, not trying to add insult to injury here, but pretty much 90% of this update seems copied literally verbatim from dungeoneering during pre-eoc. In that respect, I don't feel like this update would be unique in the sense that it's fresh and "old-school."

Cool idea, and although I'm an ironman and I am not necessarily required to entertain the new updates due to not having access to the grand exchange (for the ability to sell whatever rewards I obtain for profit), I will likely be voting no to this update since I truly don't think it's necessary. Again not that I dislike the idea I just don't think it's necessary at this time.

Closing remark - my all-time favorite old school update was Zulrah. I think that Zulrah provided a challenge as well as significant rewards, while still making lower-tier weaponry and items viable for those who can't successfully kill the boss nor afford the rewards.

What a huge dissapointment, you listened to the complainers and made most of the raid rewards dead content, except for rigour, augury and the maul. There will also be 12 bosses and only few signatures drops. I don't see how this is going to be a success unless the average drops are like zulrah's drop table, because the rare drops are not worth camping for AT ALL.
