The way it's going right now makes me extremely uneasy. Instead of having armour that makes its wearer pretty much invincible, a more balanced way to do things is to have a niche defence system. For example, have ONE type of defence be extremely high while having the other ones remain on par with the existing best-in-slots. One of the biggest mistakes in my opinion IS the fact that a "better version of x" armour is implemented. People may argue that it is super rare and that the old ones will still be used; whilst true, the new armour will grow in number over time and slowly replace the current best-in-slots. This has been seen on RS2 and EoC, as more comes into the game, more players start wearing it and the old armour like Bandos and Armadyl quickly loses its worth. That being a prime example, I think the current stats for the gear is not good. I would personally like to see it having it be on par with current armour with specific higher stats, keeping the strength bonus the same, but add in offensive stats like bonus accuracy. That way, it can still remain balanced with the current items in game whilst still giving it a "new best in slot" feel.
