A couple of things.

I can understand wanting to add new things to the OSRS, but I don't think these new skills are the way to go.

Artisan is a nice idea, but like what was previously mentioned, it's more of a task system/minigame rather than a skill. Instead of making it a skill, make it so that there are greater rewards per tasks completed that will benefit players in the game, like the Achievement tasks. Forestry is also like a minigame, as well as Herding, and I don't see the point in gaining levels for them.

Also, if Dungeoneering and Summoning were brought back, I would like to see Summoning not add levels to combat. However, I do believe Summoning functions well as a skill and could be left that way. Dungeoneering, on the other hand, I don't believe needs to function as a skill. I think it would also function fine as a minigame with all the same rewards.

I also vote for the return of the toolbelt. :P

Artisan is my favorite so far, it's like slayer but for non combat stats. Forestry, the title alone sounds like woodcutting, and plays like a mini game. Astronomy is not appealing to me. Geomancy sounds interesting but I'm taking it with a grain of salt. Herding could be cool, but also seems like a mini game.

When did these five get selected as inalists? I sent an idea via email when the contest started and never heard from it.

I think Artisan is my favorite of the lot ( though I recognize it as a task system and not a skill ). However, the ability to make "artisan tools" that don't require an attack level to wield is absolutely pointless and only benefits level 3 skillers. Even then, that's a lot of effort just to free up a single inventory slot. These artisan tools will be completely dead content to anyone who has a decent Attack level.

I quote:

Artisan Tools - Tradable, Not Stackable
Artisan tools are pickaxes and hatchets that
have the same skill bonuses as the metal tiers but have no combat bonuses and do not require an attack level to wield
.
To craft: Use Mote of Inspiration on an anvil to bring up the interface, select item to smith

Beginner's Hatchet / Pickaxe (Steel equivalent)
- Required to craft: 1 Steel Bar, Oak Logs, 100 Motes of Inspiration, 30 Smithing + 15 Artisan
- Required to wield: 1 Attack, 10 Mining or Woodcutting, 6 Artisan

Hobbyist's Hatchet / Pickaxe (Mithril equivalent)
- Required to craft: 3 Steel Bars, Willow Logs, 200 Motes of Inspiration, 40 Smithing + 35 Artisan
- Required to wield: 1 Attack, 25 Mining or Woodcutting, 21 Artisan

Expert's Hatchet / Pickaxe (Adamant equivalent)
- Required to craft: 5 Steel Bars, Maple Logs, 300 Motes of Inspiration, 50 Smithing + 45 Artisan
- Required to wield: 1 Attack, 35 Mining or Woodcutting, 31 Artisan

Savant's Hatchet / Pickaxe (Rune equivalent)
- Required to craft: 10 Steel Bars, Yew Logs, 500 Motes of Inspiration, 65 Smithing + 60 Artisan
- Required to wield: 1 Attack, 45 Mining or Woodcutting, 41 Artisan

I don't think we need any kind of new skill on oldschool but if we must choose one -> Go go Astronomy :D :D .
We should have an option to vote NO tho.

I do think we need more RuneScape Map so if the skill comes along with the new map portions I wouldn't mind.

Also, I am not against adding a new skill, but I find it biased that players who do not want a new skill have no option to vote "I do not want a new skill."

Summoning helped too much with combat and it really did need to raise combat level.

Dungeoneering, I hated it. If it is brought back it needs to be a minigame and the rewards should NOT be the same. The weapons were overpowered and many of the other items were too. If it were a minigame you people who like it would still get your good exp in skills used and still beable to do that "grouping" thing.

I couldn't agree more with this. The way that they have the skills listed and described i would rather vote for none then have to do trivial tasks everyday to just level it. Sorry to refer this to wow, but when wow made basically dailies the most important thing you could do they lost a massive sum of players. I would hate to see the game i've played off and on since i was a kid have that happen to them again. Just my thoughts best of luck deciding. With what 1nfidelity said

I think that's fair. The only rewards I liked anyway were the coal and gem bags. :P
