The idea of having Quest Reward Experience be the factor that prevents pures the freedom to do a quest is ridiculous. This type of logic that pures don't want experience, therefore deserve to not be able to do the quest doesn't make sense.

Players have the freedom to make their account as they desire. Why should any build be forced to accept a reward? Finishing the quest is an accomplish in itself, doing so with a lower defense level is even better, so why should the reward be the limiting factor?

The original Monkey Madness quest already allows pures to have the Dragon Scimitar with XP optional. This is already a step forward. Other quests have XP lamps instead of forcing you to just take the XP. This gives players flexibility.

Therefore, if players weren't selfish and could think more logically, allowing pures back to Ape Atoll through optional reward XP is a no-brainer.

When a player decides to make a self-limiting account, for some perceived advantage, they do so knowing the limitations that they themselves place on such an account...

...like gaining a higher max hit than a main of their level, or having a high total level at 3 combat, or whatever else... IN EXCHANGE for restricting their access to some quests, or areas for training, or some weapons, etc etc...

...and when updates that attempt to circumvent these limitations are suggested, they are looked down upon by some players (myself admittedly included in that number) because these kinds of updates go against the oldschool philosophy of BALANCE .

Updates like these try to give the so-called 'pure' a perceived advantage without any sacrifices for that advantage...and due to that, I'll always say no to them.

I am really excited for this quest, I dont care for sny of the jewelery rewards but the balista sounds like a reworked hand cannon to me and that is great. Range needs some variety snd javelins needed to have some sort of use. My only concern is whether it will be balances properly. The handcannon had a useful albiet somewhat overpowered SPECIAL attack inn certain cituations. Though It was able to do immense damage in a short amount of time, it did however need time to charge. If this special attack can be reworked into the balista I think it would make for some interesting variety for rangers. Without a special attack however, I am curious to the raw damage it will be able to do so that it is actually worth using. 99 ramge void eagle eye can do 47-48 with dragon/onx bolts WITH OUT special effects, and can max 68 with dbolt e special. The ballista in order to be considered because of its likely slower speed and the removal of a shield option should deal a max hit with rune javelins of about 55 damage IMO. Similar to the hand cannon max hit. But again some sort of special attack, even a nerfed version of the hand cannon special should be considered.

Also, I dont think that you should allow people to do the quest without claiming the experience, but I dont think added Defence requirements or experience should be recieved either. Many different builds that arent pures (zerkers, 70 def barrows) are usualy not too far off their next levels and I think these builds should have access to the quest. Perhaps if there is another darrio type reward for this quest aswell it would stick to tradition with this quest series i suppose and will let people claim that extra exp if they want. 😂

I don't think the bracelet should have a magic damage boost, magic damage boosts aren't even oldschool (besides special items like chaos gauntlets and the charge spell, but those are for a specific spell) and imo even the occult and staff of the dead are too far. Magic accuracy is fine, there's room for that.

Hello, i voted yes for a new quest a long time ago. All i wanted was a quest. I am satisfied with this quest i just hope it is not going to be way too hard.

In regards to every single one of the proposed rewards, i think they are all terrible.

I voted for a quest to be created, i did not know my vote would be used a tool to implement 10 new best in slot items that this game does not need. Mod kieran keeps mentioning this "power creep" like the game is destined for it. These mods keep throwing new better stuff that this game does not need at all. And I dont think the javelin bow would be over powered, i just think it is not fit for this game.

I think that this quest should not be as game altering as this as it sounds. These are all of the failed rewards that are dribbling over from failed sailing. People (myself included) voted no for sailing because the rewards were like this and completely ridiculous. Sailing also failed because this game does not need a new skill, it would be a nice minigame though.

Rewards for this quest should simply be exp lamps. I voted for a quest, give me a quest, and give me some exp for doing it.

Not feeling the Zenyte jewelry rewards. What a stupid name as well. Yea lets do more
degradable BIS gear that cost 500m. NO THANKS.

Also the Ballistas would be cool if they required MMII to be completed, also, they
look a little bit too rough, could improve graphic to make it a little smoother.

Give ballistas a special attack also.

Mod Ronan,

Great idea by the team to continue the MM quest. In the original you receive the ability to use the 'legendary' dragon scimitar that is commonly used to this day. My question is why you didn't release the next tier'd dragon weapon ('hint' warhammer) with this quest as a boss drop? or if this balista weapons released will be the equivalent of the dragon class?
