It's not often I chime in here but so far, I'm really liking the direction this is taking. Still needs some work, but I could see this being very good for the game in the long run.
One of the things I feel needs to be taken care of from the start is that this skill is going to generate a lot of market transactions, and unless more resources are getting put into this skill than there are coming out of it there's going be a problem with inflation. Now, I don't want it to
ENTIRELY
be a GP sink, but having another use for the
infinite
amount of Maple Logs in existence couldn't hurt. How many logs is this going to take out of the market and is there enough of a supply
There's also a couple of other ports the players should be able to travel to that aren't listed that I can't recall the names of, is this intentional?
In order to dive down, must one have that part of RFD completed?
What sort of
power creep
is this going to bring into the game? With new monsters, depending on their HP/Defence stats it could become the new best thing to do in terms of exp rate, which isn't so much a bad thing if it requires a very high level, but for the most part I'm pretty sure the community does
not
not want new highest EXP rates. That goes for resources too, like Fishing EXP per hour if Rocktails come into the game.
What needs to be looked into in regards to this is seeing what niches haven't been filled or aren't as balanced as other methods in the game and use this new skill to supplement that instead of just bringing in the new best thing into the game.
SIDENOTE and not entirely related, but Javelins, Warhammers and Firemaking all have almost no use. Could we please see some sort of use for the Javelins at least with Sailing?
Uhhhh, I think that's about it for right now. Otherwise the last thing I have to say is we need side-grades not upgrades! Power Creep is what ruined RS in the first place (if you don't count bots/rwt/gold farmers)!
