Yeahhhhhh you just came back and don't know what people want....A BIG majority of people want progression and a new skill. Shows what you know. It's not about YOU YOU YOU YOU. It's about the majority...Sorry Charlie.. When poll day comes, then we will really see what people think. Can't take the forums as a credible source because most of the people who use the forums are the ones there to complain and whine.

What a conceited argument to make. "To advance the game"? Get off your high horse.

I'm indifferent to sailing, honestly. I hope they don't completely mess up what people are expecting from it if they actually aren't just joshing us, but we can never tell with Jagex.

To advance it as in to update it and move it along...instead of it just sitting in one spot and dying out. If you don't think the game is getting stale because of the lack of impactful updates, then you are blind as well.

The game is just fine the way it is. It's Runescape in 2007, I don't expect anything more from it. And yet more comes around, but even then it doesn't bother me. Sailing will change the game completely, and if Jagex doesn't make sure they know what they're doing, it could ruin the game, and probably irreversibly judging from the disaster that is EOC.

You clearly have no idea what the community wants, as a vast majority want progression and a new skill...enough to pass it? We won't know until poll day...But hate to break it to you, but 2007scape is long gone and went away along time ago. The game wasn't brought back to stay with no updates. It was to bring back the old feeling/graphics/mechanics that we loved back in to 2007 and progress it in to a new direction and that is what is going to happen whether you like it or not. Not to be rude, but that is just the reality of how games work.

Can we get ironclads? Those would be more combat focused ships (more hp and turreted cannon? if there would be any advance from having it)

Also i dont like crystal hull for some reason... Maybe just have metal hulls after some level or as a Dwarf/Gnome quest reward unlocks building of those.

Also random islands (Atols, volcano islands, rocky islands, paradise islands, forested islands, ice bergs... anything you can think of.

If someone wants to play a new and improved runescape then go play the crappy new one with the terrible graphics and stupid new skills. old school runescape is for people who want to play the old game. not the new one.

Same as if you want a game with no updates, go play a private server. Maybe you will want something new to do once your account is worthy of even having an opinion. Move along with the Runescape 3 talk. It's getting outdated.

You're daft if you believe what you type. People play the game for nostalgia, not to "see how the game will progress". How do you even muscle that kind of mentality?

Warming up to the idea more and more. One thing though, naming the skill "Sailing" seems kind of lame, I'd recommend changing the name of the skill to something like "Exploration" as to make it seem a bit more serious.

Other than that, I do somewhat like the direction this skill is heading, thanks for the hard work.

Your arguing as if your desires are the only ones that matter. He can go play the "crappy new one" just like you can keep playing old school and completely ignore the sailing skill as if it never existed. Please, just stop trying to make a point because there isn't one.

Just want to make sure i got this right, exploration will be actually sailing on the sea, like a click on the screen or minimap and the ship will sail to that spot you clicked on, similar to how we walk in game by clicking and pathfinder mechanism make our player move to that spot, manually sailing so to say, and while doing this there may occur random events of sorts like cyclons and finding islands and such?

And navigation is when you sail from a port to another port or key-place by first using the exploration method to find the route, but when you have successfully found it you get a one-time chunk of sail xp and after that you can choose to do the whole route instantly similar to how charter ships work going from point A to B while we watch it travel on a world map, so that after unlocking a route, we will have the advantage of getting from place to place quicker and not having to manually sail the seas to the ports and other key-locations?

Am i getting it right or am i misunderstanding the plan here? :P

Anyway, if it will work the way i think you meant then it sounds awesome, as i think it's important for this skill that we sail manually during the exploration part and not similar to charter ship way of transportation when you watch your ship on a map going from point A to B. :P
