Old School was meant for players to play the old game, it wasn't meant to advance at all. We are lucky that we get to have our say in advancing it.

Players passed the poll for regularly updates to the game which in itself means that they wanted advancement. We can go back and forth on whether to call something a skill or a minigame. We got it offered as a skill, now we should just focus on making it a worthy skill instead of going back and forth to whether it should be established as a skill or a minigame cause if that is all we do, then there will be no further progression. Lets just take it as a skill since that is how it is being offered and lets make it worth it. This thread has had so much positive feedback compared to the last developer blog. Even on reddit it is having good positive feedback. I have hope for it to pass.

Players passed nothing of the sort. We fell short (way short) of having updates at all (they just shoved that down our throat to get the ball rolling).

More 'positive feedback' in response to this blog? Hardly. Primarily, you are the one supporting it and at the same time telling anyone who doesn't to take a flyin' leap.

The reality check you're in for (rofl) is that if they polled it right now at this very moment, it would fail and FAIL HARD (so for all your efforts to silence anybody who disagrees with you you'll end up with exactly what you should: nothing).

Instead of telling peeps to 'move along' and other useless drivel, why not tell them why they should support something as stupid as what's described herein?

Oh and don't expend the effort.. I'll 'move along' when I'm good and ready and not a microsecond before then.

Bigoted closed-minded fools wills always vote "no" to this skill, because they think their voice is more important than others and feel if the skill doesn't directly reflect their sense of taste that it's not good enough for the rest of us.'

IMO these dev blogs will help the majority of "no" voters change their mind by showing all the fantastic possibilities and fresh content that sailing has to offer.

Keep in mind: People who are maxed in RS3 and oldschool have a certain idea of what the game is and anything that differs from their mental picture of the game, they'll vote 'no' to almost every time.

This game needs to evolve and grow. In 2006 we weren't thinking "No more updates! Keep the game how it is!"

If the oldschool developmental team is able to create balanced fun and fresh content that still has the feel of oldschool than I will vote YES time and time again.

Make a 'no update server' seriously though. Like 15% of the community just doesn't want the game to experience new growth and when this kind of stuff passes they should be forced to watch everyone else experience it and not be able to.

I think the majority of concerns for Sailing go as followed:

1. People don't want building ships to be too overpowered (exp wise) and want a reliable money sink.

2. The actual act of "Exploring" needs to be implemented correctly.( I'm thinking click-to-move boating with tons of open pixels to explore. NOT a map simulator.)

3. Needs a unique method of training combat and experiencing pvp. (Combat exp rates should not be the best method in the game, BUT should provide something unique and valuable whether that be items or otherwise.

4. Needs random generated dungeons that CAN be played with friends. These should be somewhat challenging and provide a final boss at the end.

5. People want implementation of an assortment of skills: The possibilities are endless here and I think jagex will have this covered.

6. Somewhat unspoke of, but I think would be an extremely valuable contribution with the skill, would be giving "Niche" items a role in the modern game. Whether it be adding venom to rune claws or creating a solid use for javs and throwing axes, if feel people want some of the more "useless" items to be given new life.

7. New items! This one is quite obvious! Some of my personal ideas:
*Flare gun: Use to create a multitude of randomized "ghost" white dots on the minimap. (could be used to scare people in the wilderness)
* Scurvy healing food: a food that heals hp as well as poison effects.
* Anchor and chain: Requiring massive attack and strength levels the player wields a chain attached to a barrelchest anchor for devastating effects.
* Upgrades to current Bandannas, eye-patches, and pirate hats to include your personal pirate flag!
* Parrot variant of current Hunter Falcon: Used to catch monkeys which hold rare fruits and trinkets located high in the trees on tropical islands.

If these terms are met I think people will happily allow this skill to pass! (Not including my item ideas obv

I don't agree with 'Burgh de Rott' & 'Mos le Harmless' being the top two training method locations. You should make one of those a lower level option, & increase the Wilderness dock to level 80 or 90.

There are so many unique account builds that cannot even complete 'Priest in Peril' without acquiring 11 Prayer.
