Too bad so many players in the osrs community nowadays are so narrow-minded...Reading the post the Sailing skill will have a lot of potential and fits perfectly in RS. But ppl keep complaining and saying they dont want major content like this...then what do you want? Rework existing content doesn't work anymore. There's nothing new to add to a 15 year old game except expand it by adding something like sailing, deadman mode and Zeah.

Tbh I dont even pk but the idea of making a boat and you get the opportunity to rek someone on sea sounds fun.

Sry jagex the community just sucks balls & reason why is that every update theres tons of ppl saying 'no rs3 content plz'. Tbh ppl dont rly know what they want, if u dont keep an open mind osrs will be dead in no time.

Everyone should just relax with the shots being fired.
We get it, Jagex is looking for the next best thing, of course everyone's opinions matter, but just wait for a poll and decide against it if that's what you please.

In the meantime, I will not give my personal opinion until more information comes. This skill isn't being polled on to make possible new ways for you to maximize xp in other stats like crafting for those that are worried about "ruining xp rates" - they are only trying to have a way to incorporate other existing skills to give a little more of an incentive/perk to the new skill.

Keep new ideas coming please :) I like some of the updates soon to come, and I'm looking forward to newer things.

As a suggestion, perhaps we could make some updates to the existing rare drop table, to make these "rare" drops less disappointing? I'm sure no one likes hitting this drop table and sadly seeing something like an uncut sapphire. Also - perhaps making it so that even skillers have a way of hitting this rare drop table while doing things like fishing/mining/wcing or something of the sort. (I know *cers have nests already and miners can find gems - but maybe there can be other ways to show lvl 3 skillers a little love *Mind you I hate skilling I'm just in support of everyone having the same opportunity*

Yes finally something new, i was getting tired of doing the same thing over and over. I've been waiting for new monsters for a long time because its starting to get pretty boring killing the same ones over and over. If this poll doesn't pass then just add new monsters at least or something to make it less boring for those who have been playing for a long time. I'm really looking forward to that Zeah update too wish that could happen a lot sooner but i understand it takes time.

Some information off twitter (@JagexRonan):

"Training sailing solo will allow you to achieve the maximum exp rates. Groups won't be necessary."

"You will not be forced into PvP at all. PvP will be entirely optional and only in clearly defined areas."

"PvP will not be required for max exp rates, either. PvP will solely be for fun/some additional rewards."

Hope this clears some stuff and gets more yes votes.

Insanely disappointed how many people are against the idea of adding Sailing to Old School. In my opinion it fits the game so perfectly it should have been one of the original skills, but at the time it would have been too difficult to add something like this. This skill deserves to be put into the game and all those idiots requesting garbage like Summoning (**** charm gathering) or Dungeoneering (required combat to train it, overpowered rewards and a rewards screen, felt like a minigame and also completely changed the game with a max level of 120 for the first time) because those will NOT be added into the game. Kiss those ideas goodbye, they would never pass a poll because for one too many players don't wanna follow in RS3's footsteps and for two those skills were really not that great. Sailing opens huge doors to new content and we get to shape what it becomes. If you're not voting yes to this you have no imagination and no thirst for adventure so why are you playing this game?
