Make a classic server without these updates. Think it would put alot of these arguments to rest. And for the reason why I think the sailing update is a joke. It has been used before as a joke, never seriously. Simple enough reason yeah?

The server would look like the RuneScape classic servers inside of a year's time – only a dozen people playing. Most of the people who play RuneScape have already done most of the existing content once already. We need something new to increase interest in the game.

Sailing is actually a decent fit to fill that need. It can integrate undervalued skills like firemaking and give players new things to do. It also means an expansion of the development team which I would love to see. Just wait for more information before making a decision.

This has such wonderful potential for allowing growth not only in the form of a new skill but extended the map into Zeah as it progresses. Just make sure to remember that it is a new skill and will need level gaps to fill with later unreleased content. (Such as exploring regions of Zeah) Leave room for adding onto it and it will fit right in.

I hope it is structured similarly to Temple Trekking in the instances randomized problems that can occur. This would mean explorers would have to make smart use of their inventory space and gear to appropriately take down multiple random troubles along the voyage (both PvE and PvM) we can easily incorporate kraken into this as also :P it would need a safety net though as anything instances is insanely high risk as if you die you will lose everything except your 3 items. This would seem to me to limit the vast potential of circumstances you may come across from sailing interactions as most would never bring their graceful/high level gear and etc. Because of this I think it should be instances but safe like zulrah. Possibly add 5-9 possible "crash sites" where boats always sink and crash ashore at. There you could run back and collect your items from the ships wreckage as long as you don't die on the way ;) this would mean it could be in one of any of those possible locations meaning finding your loot would be time consuming still thus most would try their best to not die or take risks.

As far as the skill is concerned I hope it is balanced somewhere like agility. Allowing shortcuts around the map with higher levels and perhaps the higher your sailing the faster your sailing wait time between A to B or instance to instance becomes. Being able to apply crafting, construction, and smithing into another skill also excites me. I hope things like repairing your cannon mid battle would grant construction and smithing exp as well as keep your ship in better standings (so at the end of your voyage you get better exp)

the point this guy is making is very important. this skill will give skillers more things to do and look forward to!

many skillers (including myself) despise pking and find it horribly unfair and chanceless. we just want to have fun, and frankly brutescape isn't fun at all for me. "it sucks when you get killed."

It's not april first guys, check your calender.

Poll it or gtfo.

We did not ask for this ****.

What's bad about it?

Another post just calling it a joke with no argument as to why it's bad.

Did you read what you quoted?

I said poll it, and that we did not ask for this.

Pay attention to what you quote.

I LIKE new content. I would have been fine with Artisan, and I'm ok with Sailing also. Sounds like a great way to unlock brand new areas, lands, dungeons, etc. It is the perfect way to add new slayer creatures and resources.

I love old school runescape, it feels like the game I love and was addicted to is back! I don't mind content updates! With Rs3, I feel this urge to log out...it is actually repulsing. So I just do daily challenges or whatever, and go back to osrs.

What I HATE with the burning of a thousand suns is Microtransactions, and because of that rs3 has a nauseating vomitous amount of cosmetic junk. I also HATE easy-scape type content. Runespan was terrible, as was Ivy. I can't believe there is a full page of people at max skills in rs3. What the actual @#%!

And then they are going to release 'elite' skills which will be buyable after 3 months? Again, WTF!!!! I can't believe they are going to call them "elite" after that. *scream*

Back to osrs: The ONLY thing I dislike about osrs is bonds, which passed as a hidden rider-add on to free-to-pay. That was a dirty way to pass it :( At least some skills in osrs are still not buyable.

Do you want free to pay??!! (and in tiny print-oh ya we will have bonds too). That was under-handed. You couldn't poll them separately?

I fear that there will be no new skills in osrs, and that's sad :( I miss the old days when people looked forward to new skills, and they were a fun new thing. If you want the 'feeling of old school' that includes being actually EXCITED about new things to do and explore.

Nothing wrong with bonds at all. Like jagex said 40% of all players bought gold at one point or another, all of that hurt the game. With bonds, the money at least goes back into the game and doesn't benefit the botting community.
