I have one major problem with deadman mode. I love the idea, i think it sounds very fun and will add a new element to the game, but my problem with this is that there are certain hackers out there who go out of the way to make other people's lives miserable without profit. They drop untradeable items such as voids nd defenders even when they don't get anything from it. So what is going to stop this person from going on a deadman server and sending someone all the way back to the beginning. I think Deadman mode is awesome but will only work if you have to start a new account from the ground up, otherwise people will be able to ruin another persons entire account if they hack them instead of just causing them to lose all their items.

Why is everyone so salty over this? First of all you need to read the dev blog and watch the QAs before bashing a certain update and talking about; " omg I have to buy mems on a new account" or "omg my stats and bank will be cleared in the normal game!" It was funny at first looking at you guys making assumptions over something you didn't even understand, but come on now, it's starting to get annoying. Second of all, just look at the wilderness situation; most of you pkers complain about no risk, and I don't blame you. I stopped going to the wilderness because most of you guys only risk a pink robe bottom and a chef's hat. Its quite sad and pathetic now, but with deadman mode the risks are a lot higher and that'll stop 1 itemers and level 50 kids trying to pk you with monk's robes and a maple short bow. People will be forced to wear their best gear at all times, train their levels to get stronger, think about their ideas before acting on them, and stop trolls. This was the update I've been waiting for for many years now, and all of you clueless kids are going to ruin it for the people who actually want an intense challenge.

This is a VERY interesting concept... I think it would allow for a quite dynamic game.

I would much prefer it to be a more long-term approach rather than massive 50% losses on stats and boosts of 5 times XP. I think dead man mode has to have a majority solo/explorer approach. Rather than having a mass-influx-group aspect to it.

CONCERNS §

+ Death
#Death should be less harsh to Skillers; Whereas PKers should have to risk loosing what they have gained ( XP & GEAR).

- Death should have a somewhat proportional and dynamic factor.
-- Such as, when you die X random skills chosen ( Player can't decide )
-- Skills should loose a lot less XP than combat-stats.
- Hit points should be an exception, it should only loose say *% on death or so...

+ Quests
- Quests should start uncompleted (all)
- When death occurs quests are kept.
- Certain safe places of storage (miscellanea) should have a more factored result of loss
Such as 50% loss of stored value... This would encourage a use for such quests besides what you obtain in resources...

#DEBATE whether quest items / untradeables are kept on death...
(Most likely bank completely removes aswell)
#DEBATE whether HP should be a somewhat exceptional skill

#DEBATE whether on death should result in RANDOMIZED skill penalities, or should the user get a choice....

#DEBATE whether the NON-combat skills should have less XP loss...

+ Skills
Skills should be given much more of an exception, you should loose a much more minimal amount of XP in comparison to combat stats. In other words skills should be favored.

+ Guards
#Guards are NPC that hang around most major cities and banks. Guards have a tendency to protect low level privileges over high levels. A guard is less likely to intervene in a low level fight and hit either SKULL-ER(PKer). But is much more likely to intervene in higher level fights as they see the high levels should show respect... (In other words as your character becomes stronger, major cities are less forgiving of your evil deeds)

- Guards should spawn more frequently, depending on number of guards killed...
- Guards should increase in combat level the more murders that occur (Killing of innocent civilians )
- Guards armor/defense level should increase depending on how many Skulled people are in their city ( NEXT SPAWN)

- If a Guard kills someone with items / gear; a broadcast of City and name of deceased (To encourage people to city, so they can loot it...)

+ PKing
-There should be more creative PKing penalities! E.g
-- All Wilderenss kills are justified ( NO PENALITY )
-- After X hours all your kills are forgotten... (Penalities cease effects)
-- 1st kill: Name of killer & City revealed; +Z amount of time SKULLED
-- 2nd kill : Name of Killer & City; +Y amount of time SKULLED
-- 3rd kill : Name of Killer & City & Total Level; +X amount of time Skulled
-- 4th: Name & City & Total level;
-- 5th: Name & City & (1 random skill displayed e.g Slayer...)
-- 6th: Name & City & (2 random skills)
-- 7th: Name & City & (3 random skills)
-- 8th: Name & City & (4 random skills)
-- 9th: Name & City & (5 random skills)
-- 10th: Name & City & Combat Level

I have no opinion on this because I'm not into PvP - except one thing. These worlds will not be possible to be entered by accident, right? I don't want to accidentally end up in a deadman world just because I went with the recommended world.

As someone who played your game for over 9 years and maxed all 99's and 120 dungeoneering when i was playing years and years ago, all i have to say is you completely ruined the chance for me to come back and let me explain why:

Your old system where you keep 5 skills and lose exp in all others was a perfect unique experience i was looking for because it forces players into 1 combat type and certain skills and to ignore all others.

This system is disgusting bad, now we don't keep any skills and just lose a flat 7 levels? why the hell would i play that. (the key looting option is also bad it should be 1 stack of 28 items and big price items cant be touched without collecting 10 or so keys)

So much for coming back to runescape (which i seriously did consider but after reading THIS update you have no chance)

Please reconsider these as this is no longer a unique pvp experience, the only other thing i can suggest is your old system where you keep 5 combat skills, make it so HP is kept by default, that way you can have players make different pvp characters for example:

range/def
range/prayer
range/mage
mage/str
str/prayer
str/ranged

and so on...that would be a unique pvp experience honestly you have pures running around on there own deadman mode servers and killing bosses AS PURES and mains suffering for once for not sticking to 5(6) skills.

I can honestly say as it stands with this last edit im not coming back now.

Also i forgot to add, why was x5 exp taken out? there was literally nothing wrong with it, i don't have time this day and age to play as much as others and honestly wouldnt feel like playing the game if i had't to regrind all my old stats, again this "unique pvp experience" you were talking about? completely ruined.
