So you're saying you've not gotten a hellhound task from duradel in let's say ~650 tasks...? (basing that on my own task amount and your stats).

Let me hear your opinion on what the dev time should be spent on if not slayer.

Also what level do you think the boss should be and why if you have such a strong opinion on it?


650+ at least...nary a hellhound task.

Ofc I also had a qcape as my first cape here, so I have many more options for tasks than most, I'd wager.

And since you asked, I'd love to see that extra dev time that's been lavished on slayer split between two tasks...quests, and updates to the official client to make it a viable alternative to the security risky 3rd party options.

And a hellhound boss should definitely be under 90, and since Krakens are at 87 (boss too), I'd be comfortable at 89 for Cerberus max...seeing as his minions (hellhounds) have no slayer level req to kill.

-Since its a Hellhound Boss i recommend having 80/90 firemaking along with 95 slayer requirements to burn through the door and succeed to kill.
-Lore behind it, 3 headed-hellhound boss born from Queen Hellhound who raised and fed her children inside the heated cave in Karmja volcanoes through many years until she died and they become strong enough to take over the Karmja Volcano Cave and rule it.

Lol @ jamflex adding any req other than slayer to anything, inb4 blood altar with 97 slay req.

Just.... Waaauuv! - This is such an awesome developer blog, that I had to reply with some personal feedback!

I've been thinking about something similair about boss tasking for a while, because I've ever been wondering why you could never have Zilyana and Graador tasks, when you could manage to do your Greater Demon and Aviansie tasks on bossing trips. Really excellent! (y)

About the last bit of the developer blog, discusing whether the Assignment-system should be reworked, I have a few suggestions:

1. I think it's awesome with Slayer tasks like Cave Horrors, because you need to wear a specific slayer equipment to kill them. Which is why I think it would be just grand, if you could make these monsters at a much higher assignment-rate! :-) (y)

2. I believe there is a very small chance of getting Wyvern's as your slayer assignment, and due to the fact that this is a particularly strong non-boss assignment, perhaps you could make a tweak to the creature, so that you could only be assigned it for a small fee of slayer points. Only that when you have them unlocked, you should of course be assigned them fairly more often, because this would also go hand-in-hand with your opinions about keeping the maximum Slayer experience per hour at a minimum, as it is a very slow task to complete.

But again... Really epic developer blog --> Can't wait to poll this! (y)

Loving the new ideas, this message probably won't get read but I think the Black Demons should definitely have an updated drop table due to the high aggression and combat, it costs a lot of money to do that as a task with low rewards. Also I think metal dragons or at least steel should have the possibility of dropping a pet because they are near pointless to have as a task especially when the average amount of people get assigned 18-30 which is a very low chance of getting a visage drop, that would be a good closer to get people to slayer while already having a pitch to this new update. The only problem people have said was they don't want a pet scape, but in my opinion they should be grateful that we don't have summoning and there's not too many of the same kinds from what I've seen, and also I've met people who get drops and don't even use their pets. I've been trying to get a kbd pet with no prevail so to randomly get a pet from slayer like metal dragons would be an awesome surprise. Lastly at the duel arena the interface should be similar to the first screen due to the high percentage of people trying to scam. From my statistics, about 1/4 people are trying to scam and some are very poor at it, or very good that you cannot notice. So if the interface can be duplicated before the 2nd confirm then that would be very safe for the stakers. Other than that everything is great and I hope servers get better for the people who are paying the money they do every month. Thank you if you have read this

jagex, could you edit the team slayer to be more like rs2 (kills shared/individual killcounts of a task)...kinda pointless the way its set up now. team or solo ur still having to do a full task, kinda defeating the purpose of it all.

-DUO slayer should have some benefits. Duo assignments should be 2X larger and shared slayer points and xp. To get around the leeching factor of shared xp. There is a few things you could implement. **A player Will stop receiving xp or slayer points if he does not kill 10 (or calculate a more reasonable number) npcs in the time his/her opponent kills 10 NPCs.**
*To get the slayer points/xp you had to kill atleast 1/4 or the NPCS of the assignment with your partner killing the other 3/4.
*slayer partners can only partner up if their combat levels are as so. 3-40/40-80/80-115/115-126?? (boundaries could be thought about in more depth but this stops lower level combat players partnering with higher levels for faster slayer xp)

Points system -
*Add a HERB BOX like NMZ as a reward? I think slayer should be more profitable even at lower ties. using combat outside of slayer is much more profitable as you can kill monsters with drops of your choice.
*GEM BOX? - A new BOX like the herb box, but containing gems.
*Ability to Make some tasks a higher chance of assignment? First Buy 5% more chance = 100 points, 10% second buy 150 points and final third buy 15% 200 points. A choice of 3 set tasks? Can be changed but, with no points refunded.
*Special Teleportation Tablets that take you to certain NPC locations ONLY on your slayer assignment. Or a Scroll to learn a new spell?
*Ability to enchant the slayer helm earning it +4 all attack bonus and +3 strength bonus? 600 points.
*a special weapon like the Keris for kalphites, that can be used for all types of dragons, which deals slightly more damage than an abbysal whip and costs 1000 slayer points and 1mGP to buy. from duradel or neive only.

Just throwing some ideas your way, I have LOTS of ideas haha.

I personally don't understand the point of adding black demons to the stronghold slayer cave if you can't cannon them there. Almost everyone slays black demons with a cannon otherwise the task just takes way to long. Maybe people will use it a lot and I'm totally wrong but I don't really know. I would also like to see the something like K1rky mentioned about slayer being a bit more rewarding with the master selling maybe even slayer dart spells similar to rs3, I don't know how the game has it now, I haven't played it in 2 years but if we could see some buyables from the masters that would be very neat. Other than that I really love about everything in the post. I really love training slayer so I always love seeing and update for the skill. Thanks for reading!

Based off of the time consumption for the new Jad Pet I think it should be considered that the pet should be acceptionally large as it will be a definite milestone to accomplish. Make it to were it is a little larger than your character but not too huge, It is Jad overall. ;P

Anyone agree?
