If f2p permant come i hope that mod idea of a raid pass that give f2 pers a chance of getting a bond drop from a monster

Your idea will be polled in March. It will be called:

"F2P BOND DROPS FROM MONSTERS??!"
Yipee! Oh ya, but it will also have to come with
solomon's store
, oops :P

On their facebook, Jagex won't mention solomon's store at all, however.

Isn't that how polls work around here? :P

Again, most players will likely read the first sentence of the poll, and vote YES in a knee-jerk reaction. #educated

Seriously, Jagex? Yes, it is quite obvious, you want to grab the RWT market on Oldschool just like you did on RS3. What a sellout. If you had at least polled bonds separately, but no, you bundled it together with an update that you knew would pass. Your "democracy" works just like "democracy" IRL - give the people the illusion of power while manipulating them into doing what you want. Good job! I'll vote no just because of the manipulative way you polled this issue. I don't even care if permanent F2P is beneficial for the game and all that jazz, this is just dishonest. As for bonds, no matter what good it does for the game, I don't want any way for the IRL-rich kids to buy 99s one after the other. I urge everyone else to realize what's happening here and vote no for this travesty - although the chances of their loaded poll failing now are quite slim.

(Seriously, just consider it. When was the last time Jagex bundled together several issues this way to poll them? They always let us vote separately on every insignificant issue, and now this. Kudos to you, 15% of OSRS voters, too bad we're not enough to save this.)

((And I also realize now why Jagex isn't allowing us to change our votes. In part, they rely on impulse Yes votes to allow this kind of nonsense to pass.))

It would be nice for once if people took some trust into the community and believe they actually are voting 'Yes' because they understand the poll and what is happening.

Instead of attacking everyone by keep calling them impulsive kids, have you ever considered maybe there is a reason Bonds are winning? Maybe they actually ARE aware of what is going on and are actually making a sensible vote? I'm just surprised how one-sided some people are on these forums.

If the votes were impulsive btw, the 'Yes' votes wouldn't still be stuck in the 85% position this entire time. We're up to 35k votes in total now, that would be a lot of uneducated or impulsive kids.

"It would be nice for once if people took some trust into the community and believe they actually are voting 'Yes' because they understand the poll and what is happening."

So people want Jagex-sanctioned RWT? Curious, I thought that was one of the things people wanted to avoid when they asked for OSRS.

"Instead of attacking everyone by keep calling them impulsive kids, have you ever considered maybe there is a reason Bonds are winning? Maybe they actually ARE aware of what is going on and are actually making a sensible vote? I'm just surprised how one-sided some people are on these forums."

I'm sure there are people who have considered all things and have concluded that legal RWT and Jagex discrediting themselves is worth permanent F2P and all the bonuses it gains (although I refuse to believe that they couldn't introduce permanent F2P anyway, considering that it would make back a lot of money even by itself - by voting no, I'm also calling Jagex's bluff that bonds HAVE to be snuck in like some weird sort of trojan horse if we want permanent F2P). But just like a real-life democracy, most voters are uninformed and do not have either the competence, the patience or the interest to educate themselves on the matter before voting. (Indeed, in many places IRL, the most informed people tend to be the ones who do NOT vote - but I digress.)

"If the votes were impulsive btw, the 'Yes' votes wouldn't still be stuck in the 85% position this entire time. We're up to 35k votes in total now, that would be a lot of uneducated or impulsive kids."

I didn't say that's not the case.

Bonds will hurt Runescape:

How exactly would introducing bonds reduce the amount of "botting" in the game? In my opinion that would create more bots due to the fact that they could buy membership just based off their coins produced in game. Personally i think there should be no bonds in the game, i don't think in anyway Jagex should associate in game coins with payment method over real life money. This makes it seem even more persuasive for bots to be used to farm coins and sold over the internet.

Furthermore for Jagex to fix/protect the in game economy. They should be done by focusing on lower high alch prices and store sale prices or similar in game design as opposed to have people pay coins instead of real money. This favors higher up players and discriminates against new and fresh player who struggle to earn coins. With this in effect the growth of old school Runescape will surely plummet in my eyes.

Thank You

Because in time people will just buy osrs gold via bonds depending on the rates from the rwt gold sites and bots won't be getting as many sales anymore due to bonds by Jagex. Jagex expects players to buy their gold by selling bonds bought and therefore plan a future where rwt with gold swaps from rs3 dosen't exist. When osrs returned bots probably jumped with glee because it meant there was rs3 and also osrs for gold farming.

Bonds will in time stop the cc gold swaps. It will put a slow hold on rwt if the gold prices from bond is pretty decent.

People are complaining because they think its an unfair advantage for other players to buy bonds and sell them. You wouldn't have to be that rich to buy enough bonds and get 100m out of it. But most players won't do that. Most players don't mind grinding for stuff and that's the whole point of rs. Some players would have used rwt sites and they got an unfair advantage getting cash, maybe merching with it or flipping high priced items. Bingo bango bongo, you got a lot of cash there. Most people will probably buy bonds and sell a few here and there if there struggling but I can't see the guys who already used rwt sites to abuse the bonds system. Even if they do there only helping Jagex pockets and thats the whole idea I guess.

OSRS could be free of illegal rwt and can have f2p soon which has always been around with runescape from the old days. It will benefit old players returning, people who are tired of rs3 and want to play osrs f2p. Also old friends from current players of osrs who just want to play f2p, they can also buy bonds for membership and never have to worry about paying.

It is actually a great system but its divided community and as ive seen others saying a lot of hatred for updates. It is a bit hard to watch but at the same time I like a good discussion if its smart and thoughtful : )

Hey man, I'll respond to your post even though I think the thread has mostly slown down and stopped by now. I'm still sorta hanging out though.

The first thing you asked is how introducing Bonds would reduce the amount of botting in game. The how part is the fact that it's about money. If the goldselling sites and bots aren't selling to make enough money, they downsize (lay off employees) or eventually go out of business. Simple as that.

A reason to buy a Bond instead of RWT is that a Bond is 100% safe and secure. It's also a convenience in the fact your Bonds arrive to you instantly. You aren't guaranteed to get your gold at all if you RWT. If you don't use Paypal you're in trouble because the RWT will steal your card information. Even if you do use Paypal they won't cover your dispute if you don't get the delivery because it's considered a virtual item.

I'll be completely honest, I do think Jagex planned to add Bonds on OSRS since the beginning. They knew people have been buying Bonds on RS3 and transferring gold through a middleman (gold-swapping cc's) this whole time. Now Jagex is seeing that OSRS isn't sustaining enough money for development, it's because the integrity of the game was lost! They knew what was happening. If they disallowed gold transferring from the beginning and the game still had its integrity, a lot less would've voted 'Yes' for Bonds including myself. Since the transferring has always been allowed, I think Bonds right now would help more than hinder the game.

Well anyway, in your second paragraph I liked your idea on having some sort of gold sink like the high alching of items set to be a lower value and altered with shop prices. That is a good idea and maybe can still be done in the future (as a poll). The Well of Goodwill on RS3 though was the epitome of having a gold sink and was a good cause for charities. I almost would recommend that over Bonds to keep the economy intact, but OSRS needs money.

I think it's a great system too and they both go hand-in-hand perfectly. :)

I actually hit my character limit on my other post lol. I never got to touch up on the awesomeness of having F2P, so ty for doing that for me. I still have my doubts whether Bonds was meant to coincide with the F2P perfectly like it seems, or it was still a shady motive from the beginning...

I guess either way a full and permanent F2P is coming and I'm looking forward to the game growing with both Bonds and F2P now! :P

Thanks for agreeing Ellinger. I think it was possibly a bit of shadiness involved and maybe a way of getting what they wanted sooner. Maybe this is the real reason f2p was never considered from the start because there's no way it would of passed straight up. But from memory rs2 in 2007 had a heck of a lot more members and f2p players made up that player base too. Now the game barely makes it over 30k at peak so I can understand if f2p was coming they would need a bit more revenue. Especially if they want to evolve their business. They might not want the same profits as before, that's the whole point. People fail to recognise that at the same time of making customers happy, business has to come first and foremost. Its like a good form of government getting in trouble for cleaning up the other poor judgement of the the other side and people kick them out cos they want everything now! or not that way!

That is why I think people are complaining but then some are just saying well its for the better really.
