RIP Oldschool. So sad for all the veteran players who lobbied hard to get an older and simpler version of the game, only to find out this would happen. I feel foolish now, realizing nostalgic players really had nothing to do with why it was brought in. Money $$* was actually what it was all about. I was there voting for Jagex during the glory days; "Best online F2P MMO". I really loved the game back then and jumped at the chance of reliving it. Sad day today. Instead of a slow burning steady candle with dedicated players, you are (once again) setting off a firework, for a short time.

did you really think hey were gonna setup osrs if it wont make money?jagex is a company and companys there purpose is profit. be realistic

no where in the news post or the in-game poll does it mention anything about having to buy the bonds with real life money.

if i didnt know what a bond was or how they worked, i wouldnt know that you had to buy them with real life money.

WOW. A lot of hate for bonds out there. Just wanted to post my own view. I think bonds are the best update to come to OSRS since OSRS. And f2p is probably the second best update for the long term health of the game.

I pay for my membership with bonds and always have. Glad to see that people will be able to do this with OSRS gold too, though I'll still use my RS3 gold (since what else is it good for).

Just want to let folks know though. The day that Solomons or Squeal of Fortune come to OSRS is the day I quit the game. I don't like the GE and and a few other updates, but these are the only updates that for sure will make me quit if they came to OSRS.

See, there's still confusion out there. This post shows it^^

You can buy a bond with real life currency
OR

You can buy a bond with gold pieces.


If you buy a bond with real life currency you can immediately go to the grand exchange and SELL it for gold pieces
. That's where 'pay to win' comes from. It is officially implemented gold selling.

I can think of no simpler way to explain it. I did the best I could.
