this is how i see it. Would u rather continiously world hop to sell your items to a mercher for a markup, deal with merc* bots,. and scammers... or

have an automated trading system.
hmm

I must have it all wrong! Guess there are no merchers, bots or scammers on RS3 which as i understand it has a G.E.

Although I'm opposed to the G.E coming, what can I do? The majority of you guys clearly want it, so good for you. :)

HOWEVER

I would like to reiterate an idea that has most likely been posted:

Do NOT give us a base price alone- while it's meant to be a guideline, this isn't RS3. They coded a trading post, and I'd hate to see it wasted without recycle. Let us see the prices and quantity being sold!

I gathered a list of what I think are pros and cons.

Pros-
1. can obtain your items immediately
2. No more need to stand around saying buying/selling
3. easier for people to buy and sell more obscure items, such as things hunter related

Cons-
1. could ruin the effect for people playing for nostalgic purposes
2. Prices for items could drop due to being easier to obtain
3. There's a very large number of people who appear to be strongly against the ge, who might quit if it's released

I personally voted yes.

yes prices will drop but people will be able to sell their junk wich compares even to that and second of all the no voters are a small amount they just got a big mouth, that little amount will quit but more will come back, the fast there was no ge was a reason i didnt play and my friends too

Darkers, you are as mistaken as you are illiterate! As the poll stands, nearly a quarter of players is hardly a small ammount!
Interesting to see that you have not been a member for long, maybe you didn't play at the time OSRS is set in and just wish to see RS3 reborn?
Further, as i voted NO i take offence at being labeled a "big mouth" and strongly suggest RS3 would suit you better.
Ultr64 at least presents a well presented, thought out argument...

look me up in the highscores and come back when you can compete with me

@cookie00108
there are voices out there who don't play at the moment and want to play only if the GE comes, these voices can't be heard, then there are the no voters and the third part are the players who want it but didn't especially quit for it,wich means MORE than 75% if for it so tell me who is the low minded cheap now,you prefer fighting a war with sticks and stones instead of guns? some things are just better to be updated
wake up!

Im very much against GE, but since it seems it is passing anyway, please dont put a price checker or an average value on the items. Just let people sell for whatever they want and determine the market that way.

There is no interaction at all already, g.e will improve it. "hi, can I buy all your flax?" "my world v west" you trade "ty" "ty" There's very little interation there already. you morons need to pay more attention.

Make no mistake about it! You will get your flawed, manipulation-prone, EasyScape GE system back, but do we really need such an imbecilic post from a simpleton contradicting his or herself by claiming "morons need to pay more attention"? No! The stupidity both inside this thread and on the outside cease to amaze me.

I have no problem if the GE passes, but what I do have a problem with is what all the masses, like sheep, really voted for and missed out on. The TP has barely made it past a month, and it never has gotten a fair chance to reach its full potential. If the biased and unfair GE poll was held off for a few months and TP was given its rightful fallback options and the chance to shine, could it have worked and surpassed the GE?

On that token, we'll have to beg the question, "What if?" What if, as the old saying has it, "fools [didn't] rush in"? TP was promising and could've been bigger and better than the GE has ever been. For one, it wasn't prone to price manipulation like the GE. What you see is what you get, and in layman's terms and for the simple-minded yes-men, I mean you clearly saw all candidate offers from different players that you can pick from in an array of locations and banks.

The GE has never afforded us that. You went in one, central location blindfolded and played a game of chance by constantly fluctuating your prices in hopes of getting your items.

In the TP, however, Player A posts that he or she's selling a Dragon Chainbody at 2 million coins, and Player B posts his offer at 2.4 million, so you go to Player A if you're smart provided that TP has all its fallback options implemented.

On the other hand, the GE tells you to buy it at 2.2 million, and you miss out on snagging the chain at 2 million. Also, the 2.2 million could be manipulated where an elite clan either buys out and hoards the item and severely marks up the price on it driving it into forced inflation or dumps the item and causes it to crash provoking deflation.

Also, and more importantly, players also have a great degree of control over prices with the TP. Unlike the GE that formulates prices based on the masses, the TP lists and shows your offers to a wide range of players so that they can ultimately decide on the best prices for them. Again, there was no blindfold and no gimmicks; you simply chose the best offer that suits you.

With that said, I firmly believe the fallback options on the TP would've made a greater choice for OSR than a sloppy, flawed, fools-rushing-in, gung-ho style GE. All you had to do was give it a fair chance to realize its full potential before saying you want GE back like a bunch of sheep listening to your shepherds, who are only after their own best interests. Britain's own, John Maynard Keynes, was spot-on when he basically said that all businesspeople do is herd and extrapolate because that's what all the yes-men did on the GE poll.
