That also holds truth because if RS3-like trends, such as GE coming back, continue to find pseudo refuge in OSR, it'll eventually become a clone of RS3 along with all the repeated mistakes of such controversial updates and die. in the pre-GE era, we had a pretty stable, healthy and consistent economy aside from the Great Dupe in 2003 and a few other forms of bug abuse. The economy was prosperous, and skilling was profitable and actually meant something unlike the post-GE economy that mirrored real-world recessions and depressions.

This is one of the many ideas I have had.

It's a good one.

Let each major city/centre be the epicentre for a skill or set of skills e.g. like Varrock is centred around Smithing/Mining for the Varrock Achievement Diary reward in RS3, so should each city reflect this and the guilds (guilds for all skills) around it. Then each of these areas should be the trading area where people would go to obtain those goods.

For example, the GE for food and fishing - related items would be in Varrock near the Cooks' Guild, etc.

This means there is a reason to go to places other than Varrock/Fally/wherever and helps to prevent one area becoming a sinkhole for all activity.

This is the best thing Jagex could do to old school runescape, please tell me people why you wouldn't want this in the game? I am sick and tired of standing in world 1 for 20 minutes typing and typing trying to buy one item where most of the people can't even see what i'm saying because it's so god damn packed. This update is so overdue and should have been put in the game long ago.. there's so much non old school content in this game and not enough old school, G.E should have been put into this game long before god wars.. Imbued berserker were not a feature until 2009. THIS IS 2007 RUNESCAPE WHY CAN WE IMBUE OUR RINGS!?! I have a fear this game will collapse even bounty hunter isn't old school content and it's in this game.. I love bounty hunter which is why I have nothing bad to say about it except the target finding is very bad an inaccurate but that's something to discuss another time. Grand exchange is a win win and in my opinion the people that don't want this are completely bonkers or off there head on something.. They can't bring out one piece of old school content and then ignore the others it's not right especially as they're updating the game and putting non old school content in, i.e. nightmare zone.. load of rubbish in my opinion and pointless. I've been a runescape player since 2005 on and off and I will admit that updates Jagex have done in the past have forced me to never fully commit and actually make my account superior. Old school runescape needs Grand exchange now. *[b]EDIT* I'm in the process of making my bank and buying a lot of items this will take me around an hour or longer.. with G.E this will take me about a minute. How can people not want this??!!

Oh my God. I need to find screencaps of the Jagex blog explicitly stating that they will not be graphically updating the game alongside never instituting the Grand Exchange. I knew the trading post would be a slippery slope leading directly to this garbage. The Trading Post is sufficient for what Old School needs.

Everyone voting for the Grand Exchange is comparable to an immigrant who leaves their horrible country to come to a new one, only to moan, groan, and complain until the new country is changed to their liking until it's identical to the country they left!
