This is supposed to be "Old school Runescape". There was no GE in old school runescape. The RS fanbase is really ambiguous in what they want. Folks complain about EOC and how the game got worse and how good it used to be, then Jagex gives them Old school now they're saying they want elements of the new system in the old school one. Kids will ask for more and more new content and at some point we lose sight of what the original old school system was supposed to be. I know the developers will recognize the term "Feature creep" :P . Give me a break guys!

I vote no for the GE. Keep old school runescape OLD SCHOOL.

I'm gonna tell you exactly what you quoted. In real life majority is 51%. You're lucky the threshold is so skewed towards you. A 3:1 ratio is complete bs. You're not getting shafted, if the vote was 26-74, the 74 would get shafted and that now fair. In jury it's 100% but how do you think they get that 100%? The majority keeps telling the minority the same thing until they agree.

I was able to run across the Old School RuneScape Anyone thread in which it said this:

Why have you released the 2007 version of RuneScape when we have been asking for a 2006 version?

We don’t have many full backups, and don’t have any from 2006 at all, unfortunately. This version from August 2007 is the most complete (most technically viable). It also sits in a sweetspot in time which has most of the features players have asked for, but is still before the release of the Grand Exchange, which is the cut off point we’ve seen mentioned the most. That tells you that the 76% is a farce and consists of RS3 neophytes who bombarded OSR and botted up the yes votes. Something is clearly wrong with this picture if the real majority had asked for a pre-GE version of the game.

This type of argument got old in the last thread, so let me clarify a few things. For someone speaking about losing sight on the game you seem to be pretty blind. Do you know why the majority of the community JUST AFTER EOC voted to have Oldschool Runescape servers?

It wasn't for the nostalgia, they wanted to have their game back to a point where it wasn't a broken mess. Yes 2007 is a far archive from 2012 and Jagex called it "oldschool", but that was the only backup they had. It's not like we had any other choice, it was be back in an oldschool version of RS or nothing.

I believe the majority just want RS back the way it was pre-EOC. We can vote bit by bit as a community to try and rebuild our game together. Since day 1 we started doing this with opening up the servers, and here we are two years later still doing it. Nothing has changed, no sight has been lost.

Also instead of insulting everyone by calling us "kids" because we want new content, life lesson: the only consistent thing in life is change . Either get used to new content and changes or go find a private server to play on.

Ty for linking that, it's something I feel everyone should read on this thread. :)

They checked for the unfair or "botted" votes starting with the last Q&A. Mod Mat K said in that video (found on Youtube) it would take about 15 hours. When it was all done they posted on Twitter that there was only 120 votes in total that were caused by people voting with multiple accounts.

People have also mentioned the botted accounts thing in the past few pages, read up. You have to accept the fact this is what the majority of this community really wants. Also what Mod MMG said about the pre-GE being "the cut-off point" was just a guess back then of how the community felt. We now have the 76% 'Yes' votes to prove that wrong. The numbers don't lie.
