They did that, its called legacy mode. If you like it so much, go play it. People play this for a reason, the reason being they don't like legacy mode. The EOC might have killed 3 for a while, but many updates before that made the coffin, eoc just nailed it shut.

Honestly this is so frustrating. Players voted on a 2007 runescape, nothing less nothing more. That's what we wanted. You slowly added updates which weren't necessarily bad but you kept on losing percentages of the base players. I'm talking low percentages like 1 maybe 2 percent each update. This may seem insignificant because a "majority" still wanted the update, but now those percentages are adding up. The "majority" is no longer comprised of people who just want a 2007 runescape, but of people who want a 2012/pre-eoc.
That is the direction you are heading towards. You are losing the originalists that made this game great. Look at what the main game turned into. It pleases no one which is why you guys made oldschool. You are literally going down the same path. You are going to make the same mistakes. You are slowly implementing the aspects that made the previous game horrible. It wasn't just one aspect but the culmination of all of them together.
Runescape is an MMOR** that is based on "grinding". That's where it's bones are. That's why people loved to play it. The fact that you have to work hard to get where you want to be was the main reason this game was so great. You didn't achieve riches by manipulating the game but by using real world tactics to get ahead. Even Merchanting involved the grind of just finding players and selling items at the right price at the right time. By implementing the GE you are just making the game easier.
Look at RS3, the game has been made to be so easy that anyone can do anything. There is no skill involved. There is nothing fun about a game that is easy. The challenge is what brings players in and that's what keeps them. The GE made getting money easier. Living rock cavern made mining easier. Runespan made runecrafting easier. EOC made combat easier. Everything challenging was made easier.
I love this game for the challenge and the grind. Please don't ruin it by implementing the GE.

Yeah people didn't want GE at the start because they wanted to enjoy the nostalgia of 07 for a bit and try out the old trading. Now though the game been out for almost 2 years people want better updates.

wasnt rs 2007 meant to be oldschool? i see **** like this added and i think to myself that u guys are bunch of whining kids which are hungry for nostalgia but want rs 2007 changed into rs3.

whats the next update? add like dungeoneering and better graphics, because this **1* isnt even close to oldschool anymore. really pathetic and definitely a NO***********OOO TO THE GRAND EXCHANGE!!

haha bro people dont want rs3 the ge was release in 07 rember it just makes trading much easier and save time and no more scam so its win win

Leave as is. I have no idea why anyone would want to bring back the mess that is the GE.

At least the alternatives presented aren't too terrible. Be a real shame to bring the GE back though, it changes the game far too much. We voted to bring back 2007, why would you want to change it so much now we have it?

I think the GE was the beginning of the end for this game when it was first released. Do Jagex not learn from their mistakes or are they just trying to continue modifying 07 RS until it is EOS again, then relaunch another Old School version? I support the idea of being able to trade through the trading post, but not automating it and especially not offline trading. This takes the entire social aspect out of the game.

Personally, I believe there is only one word for anyone supporting the GE: LAZY! Finding someone to sell you an item at your price is part of the fun of earning it, as well as negotiating.

Like I saw mentioned in earlier posts, surely the developers know what kind of impact this will have on RuneScape's economy. Massive fluctuations in price and manipulation of the economy, whether there is a trade limit or not. Just don't, or I'll be on my way out as well.

This new generation of players is soft.
Stop crying for a GE to make the game "easier". Go out there and work hard. Everyone wants to rise to the top but no one is willing to go through those rough times, those dog days, to get there.

If anyone from the Dev team reads this, I love this game to bits and pieces but your killing it and me. I've quit this game before. It was horrible and I missed the game so much for what it

You're rebuilding the coffin that now holds RS3. The plot has been bought, the grave digger is digging, the stone engraver is etching.
