I love how Jagex just keeps removing certain aspects of the game that certain people enjoy. People were not getting scammed by the commission staking FC's, The FC's that hosted Commision based staking offered a service in which a player could have the ability to potentially double their money, -5%. It's exiting, something that drew a large crowd to play Runescape. But much like the wilderness in 2008 you've gone and ******* it all up again. Good job Jagex, with this update you've secured another "x" amount of people quitting your game.

HOLY CRAP, THERE'S A LOT OF COMMENTS. 47 pages in less than a day.... OSRS team, you messed up BAD.

I strongly disagree with action being taken, especially on an opinion poll rather than an actual content poll, on something with less than 75% approval. There was only 46% approval for anything to be done about splashing. Even worse, only 31% wanted action without a poll. You should have polled the change you implemented ONLY AFTER ASKING US! "Should we make it so random events make a player stop auto-retaliating if they are splashing? We feel this is necessary due to the relative ease of magic training."

This doesn't personally affect me because I haven't splashed in a while, and I can still do it if I go to GWD or a PVP world (I used to do that anyways before the update to randoms). Actually, it's good for me because smoke staffs are plummeting. Thanks? No, I hate how you made such a big change without asking us.

Seriously, thank you for not touching gold swapping. I only pay for membership through bonds. I personally support OSRS bonds. You should do an "opinion survey" on this ;) that way if you guys think it's best for us, regardless of what we say, it will be implemented! Kappa Kappa Kappa

I (edited: I originally said "think think" ) don't think you dealt with commission staking the right way. Well, first off because it wasn't polled. Anyways, you should always be investigating the staking clans and just ban those involved in RWT. Duel arena will SUFFER because of this, to be completely honest. A good chunk of people who stake took commission, so now who will I stake?

I already maxed out my melee, but thanks for not touching nmz guthans. This will keep guthans at a nice price. (RIP smoke staff! No reason for me to get my slayer from 89 to 93 now!)

I am glad seeing that afksplashing and commission staking have been tweaked, thank you for doing this and cracking down on the RWTrs. :D

I am one of the few that play via bonds and am grateful that gold swapping has been left. Maybe something to consider is adding untradeable bonds in OSRS where one can buy off an NPC without having to swap to RS3 to buy bonds. Being the npc would sell untradeable bonds they would remain this way however could be redeemed by the player who bought them for membership.

Thank you for fixing splashing, now please fix AFKing NMZ in guthans and OSRS will be headed down the right path. You couldn't do it back in 2007, you shouldn't be able to now. Why even bother playing the game if you don't want to actually play? Stop being lazy and actually train your account like everyone had to in 2007 and like everyone does in every other MMOR**. The only people against fixing it are the ones exploiting the AFKing. AFKing was treated as macroing back in 2007, and it should be treated as such now.

okay, first off I have NEVER once splashed any mage xp nor have I ever been a part of commission staking. jagex you really dishonored your own polls, splashing was taken out without approval of the osrs community and in my mind isn't grounds to take matters into your own hands. the poles WERE a great addition to get feedback from the community about the game BUT once you disobey the communities thoughts it becomes a nuisance. if the community had decided on removing it or coming up with a solution to the problem it would be fine but they didn't the community said to leave it alone. this was unacceptably dealt with and should be REVERTED it has caused an economic crash of the smoke staff, this is bad business. a game with such a diverse economy needs to be managed as the economy aspect in mind, destroy a players economy and what happens? they lose intrest in the game. runescape has went through this over and over. as far as the staking issue, yes I do understand why this was removed in aspects to RWT but what if the accounts you have wrongly removed coins from was never doing this but not only that you took the coins away from them before applying the rules to the rules of conduct. this is wrong its like taking something away from someone without fair warning. you cant do that without telling people to stop or consequences will be applied. I think this should have been controlled but not limited to ban in connection with RWT. these are just my thoughts and if this is possible I would like a reply as to why these changes were made without acceptance of the osrs community. thanks. this took some time to type up so a response would be greatly appreciated, plus this is the only way to contact jagex in general and it would show that the communities thoughts do matter, again, thanks.

To the mods, in regards to the splashing update
- you have once again solidified you're hipocracy. Not only did you alter large aspects of the game, but you did this without polling. And to add to the fact you did this after seeing a survey in which 54% of people agreed no change should be made and on top of that 15% decided if this were to be changed, that it should be done so through the use of the polling system! What do you do? Change it 3 days later without using the communities opinion.. I don't think you realize how much you have affected the price of the smoke battle staff along with the runes used in conjunction with it. Not only am i angry about this but i am dissapointed. I have been working at 93 slayer for over a year now and 300k experience before i achieve my goal i get to see the price of the most valuable and rarest slayer item in the game drop in price by 50%! Once again i would like to thank you guys for not only ruining the drive for me and many others to achieve 93 slayer, but for changing a major aspect of the game without using the poll system. Jagex you never seem to fail at ruining not only rs2/eoc but also osrs.

I hope you don't take too much offense to this.. but also fully understand why I and many others of the community are fully outraged that you once again updated OUR game without consulting us.

thanks again - a paying customer

Koopa kid said: I know I said I'd be gone from this thread, but...wow.

I go to Varrock Sewers to train my Slayer on my skeleton assignment (I'm a lower level in OSRS), and some dude, the very second I start attacking and killing a skeleton with Crumble Undead, the very INSTANT...asks "y arent you splashing?"

The audacity of it...to ask me to partake in methods that were widely deemed by legit players as unfair! No way. Not to mention it's a Slayer task? Uhh, I want to kill monsters, not let them bash my skull in while I pointlessly fire puny Wind Strikes their way.

I told them off and worldhopped. I'm not partaking in a stupid activity that isn't meant to be there. If you want to splash, fine, but I will have no part of it. If you don't like the changes implemented today, there's the door over there to other MMOs. We legit players don't want your kind here.
/ends thread rant there and leaves again[/quote]

Koopa, i don't think you fully understand the spectrum of players this has affected. Yes splashing may be a cheap and afkable way of obtaining magic xp, but please don't try to tell me alching isn't in the same category. Also this has affected the price of many items including the smoke battlestaff, which is basically the end game slayer item at the moment. An item that hard to obtain needs to have a high marketability so players have a reason to get 93 slayer. This update, which i state again was not polled and also was in disagreement to the recent survey, has critically lowered the price of the smoke battlestaff. I really hope you widen you're point of view and try to take into account all of the players this has truly effected. I could give a **** less about peoples afk magic xp, but as soon as you start manipulating the prices of my slayer drops I will be aggravated!!!
