L0L the trial went better than expected and we still don't get a permanent f2p. what I really don't get is how you think existing members will cancel to become just f2p.
Some people only play for the F2P aspect of the game (more so F2P clanners)
People WILL cancel their membership for F2P, the clan world alone would probably be a good 100-200 people which I admit isn't really much but I'm sure there are other people too.
I don't see how they can say they are really happy with the results, then post graphs showing that most people subscribed before their trial was up. What this tells me is that people want to subscribe because they like the game, not that they HAVE to otherwise they would have waited until the last day to make the most out of their free trial. So should the game get perm F2P, I believe we would see similar (if not an increase) of players subscribing.
What I don't get is why was the main game able to have full F2P but we cannot? I get that the main game has microtransactions but jagex were happy enough with the money being made for years off subscriptions alone.. Adding onto this, we have 5 staff compared to the several hundred RS3 has. I'm pretty sure the amount of people that would come back to the game and possibly subscribe, aswell as the money they save from only giving us 5 staff rather than the hundreds RS3 has would more than enough make up for the loss in memberships... It just really comes down to greed and riding OSRS for all it's worth which sucks but it should come as no surprise any more.
