The intention of most bots were to cut yew trees, but what about mining bots with the intention to mine coal, mithril, and adamantite ores. You only need level 30 mining to mine coal, and coal rocks are more accessible than yew trees. Which means mining pricey ores could be the next intention if they're not able to cut high level trees.

I'm a supporter of a permanent F2P environment as it were seven years ago. But I understand the revenue landscape has change as well and you want to go into a different direction than supporters of a permanent F2P would hope for. Maybe there could be a middle ground we are not aware of. Perhaps, limiting skills to only level 40 for F2P might be the answer. Or perhaps having a certain total level to access high level content for F2P would be the ideal way to go.

Is this how F2P will be implemented from now on, or can more changes be made in the future?

In order to make sure that the F2P Old School ends up with is the one that benefits the game the most we will see how the trials go and alter them until we have what we consider to be the ideal solution.

This is great. Hopefully we'll see even more players make the transition to OSRS.

I think people need to keep the above statement in mind, it gives me a lot of hope for the future of F2P and its potential growth. They made revisions to the old F2P policy based on the numbers they saw and this seems to suggest they may do the same in the future based on any changes they see after this.
Back in my day Rune 2hs were 50k and scimis were 35k. Anything else is heresy.

no permanent f2p?then i won't even try 07 as i planned,i am that type of player wich plays some time and quit some time after,if the game is members only, i can't acces my 07 account,so i won't buying membership,as when i am f2p and try the game again and enjoy it,i am sure i will buy member again. very dissapointing, its more about the money, not about the game updates, besides that,we choose 07 because we didn't like updates.

With a permanent f2p the original idea was that new and even old players who quit would join the game and play a very limited version of the game. After getting a taste of what runescape was like the members only content was/is supposed to entice them into subscribing so they can be apart of that. I get the feeling that with this decision it's like jagex has lost confidence in itself to create new and better content to make players want to pay to play their game. Saying you are worried about losing subscribers to the f2p version is in my opinion also admitting your game isn't good enough to pay for.
Btw I and many others do not believe this which is why a lot of us are confused by this decision.

Great job Mods, you guys are doing the right things for the game for sure.

An interesting idea that I think should at least be looked at: I saw a thread that gave an idea where you could actually PURCHASE the entire F2P game for $15 (or whatever is deemed worthy) so that, while it is the F2P game in essence, you still have to pay X amount of dollars to play the permanent F2P version.

This will bring in revenue, satisfy many players' desire for the essential F2P game, and keep many of the troublesome botting out of the game, among other benefits I may be leaving out.

At it's core, I think this could really be something beneficial for everyone that truly wants the game to thrive.

Thank you to anyone who read this for your time and consideration.

Never grasped the concept of ''members unsubscribing when F2P is permed'' ... I personally LOVE F2P, but come on.. it's so limited! what do you expect me to do, LEAVE MY WHIP and JAD and millions of bosses to kill hillgiants with a rune scim?? at one point or another if you truly enjoy the game, you should subscribe

Sorry Jagex, the logic of your argument is invalid..
