The two things that OSRS needs to succeed is F2P and the GE. Instead of giving us these things you would rather give us knock offs. How pathetic.

Mat,

I am thinking that you went to bat for free to play, and this was the best that you could get. People are frustrated because we view full free to play as vital to long term viability.

Regardless, thank you for your work in this area.

Hopefully, things will change to allow for a more robust free to play option in the future.

Well said...

In respect to F2P, while we all/most want to this happen, 07Scape is still technically in it's infancy as compared to Runescape as a whole. Jumping right into a F2P version of the game without gaining data could potentially mean the downfall of the game.

Let the mods do what they need to do, and when it comes time to poll, we will get our say.

less updates. This is something that neither you nor we want. A successful game is something that both you and we want.
yes successful even though i hate bots f2p is where every one started u would not have players if it was not for f2p. iv been a member for years now butt i started on f2p i waited till i could wear dragon before i became a member. if less updates is what will happen so be it as long as we can get more players on old school idc about updates.

The number of subscribers are a surprise to me.. I would still want full F2P though.

Edit: Btw if there is perm F2P people WILL cancel their membership, as bazarr as it sounds there are people that play solely for the F2P aspect of the game (clans) and I'm sure there are other people.

In the end it's just whether jagex think going full F2P and the number of subscribers gained from that is worth losing those that will unsub. If the numbers are so good now with it being F2P, with most of those subbing before their free trial is up I think it would be. Those that sub before the free trial is up aren't subbing because they have to, they're subbing because they want to and I don't think think they would change their decision if the game was permanently f2p.

I just don't really like how RS3 can get full F2P while we get hit with trial ********.. Yes they have microtransactions but the game survived for years without it with full F2P.

Disappointed but not giving up. Glad to see subscriber count raised and bots were under control though.

I'm confused, what do you mean you're worried that members will unsubscribe to play F2P? That doesn't make a shred of sense to me. Members game has all these benefits, why would they want to unsubscribe and severely hinder themselves access to all these benefits and resources? If anything they would just create a new account to play on F2P, not unsubscribe their existing one...

Also advertisement needs to happen. Just a month ago I had two old clanmates that returned that quit after EoC. They JUST got wind that Old School existed, over a year later. I know you advertise but it needs to become heavier. This suggestion is a shot in the dark but I know the RS3 Team emailed accounts with rare names, is it at all possible for the old school team to send messages out to players who quit after 2007 but before 2012?
